Minto Cup Results – Day Three

Two games were played on day three at the 2025 Minto Cup, at the Meridian Centre in St. Catharines, Ontario.  This was the last day of round robin action.

Game One:

Raiders Lacrosse Club 3  vs. Coquitlam Adanacs 11.

The Coquitlam Adanacs made an emphatic statement with an 11-3 win in game five of the 2025 Minto Cup.

While the Raiders defense held strong until the midway point of period two, the Adanacs kept pressing and eventually were rewarded.

Up 2-0 after one, Aiden McDonald, Cody Malawsky, Ryan Colsey, and Nathan Chalmers broke the game open making it 6-0.  Dexter Hannigan finally got the Raiders on the board with 0:22 seconds left.

The third was much the same with the Adanacs outscoring the Raiders 5-2, for a dominant 11-3 victory.

Ryan Colsey (2g,1a), Oskar Lucas (2g,1a), Nathan Chalmers (2g,1a), and Cody Malawsky (1g,4a) led the way for Coquitlam.

Russel Bollinger (2g,1a) and Dexter Hannigan (1g,1a) were the offensive sparks for the Raiders.

Game Two:

Orangeville Northmen 10 vs. St. Catharines Athletics 12 in OT

A game that had everything!  Big hits, lots of animosity, as well as highlight reel goals.  The St. Catharines Athletics outlasted the Orangeville Northmen 12-10 in overtime.

The Athletics trailed after one period 1-0, but tied the game early in the second.  The teams went back and forth through most of the period, until goals by Lukas Neilsen and Arrow Booth put the Athletics up by a couple. Liam Matthews and Lukas Neilsen exchanged goals near the end of the second but St. Catharines held the two goal lead at the break.

The third was another wild one!  Orangeville scored a pair to tie the game, only to have the Athletics match that to regain their two goal advantage.   The Northmen again came back to tie the game, but St. Catharines kept pushing.  Chuck Rawson gave the Athletics the lead, only to be answered by Trey Deere of Orangeville.   Rawson again scored, this time shorthanded with only 2:31 remaining for St. Catharines, but Liam Matthews would tie the game with 1:07 left to send this wild one to overtime.

It took almost eight minutes before a goal was scored in extra time.  Ari Steenhuis went coast to coast scoring to the glove side of Evan Constantopoulis, followed by Keaton Zavitz with a low to low laser for St. Catharines to win the game 12-10.

Lukas Neilsen (4g,1a), and Chuck Rawson (3g,3a) led the way for St. Catharines.

Liam Matthews (3g,7a), Max Kruger (4g,2a), and Trey Deere (2g,2a) led the Northmen offense.
