Gary Groob has been involved with Lacrosse for the majority of his life, whether playing, coaching, or covering the sport for the media. An avid fan, with a real drive about helping to "grow the game", Gary became part of podcasts about the game in 2010. Through the podcasts, Mr. Groob was given an opportunity to write about lacrosse, and the rest as they say, is history. Through many miles (flying and driving) Gary has made inroads with the National Lacrosse League, Major Series Lacrosse, Ontario Series Lacrosse, the Ontario Lacrosse Association, CUFLA, as well as the Arena Lacrosse League, covering the leagues, their teams, and players, working for, and in concert with all of them. In the year 2019, Mr. Groob was made the media person for the Arena Lacrosse League, voted onto the board of directors of the Brampton Excelsiors Lacrosse Club, as well as being made administrator of the Lacrosse page "Global Lacrosse" with a membership of 14,000+ members in over 90 Countries. Gary was also made an administrator of Lacrosse History Past Present and Future in 2022 with a membership of 19,000+. Gary also has been the media person for Ontario Series Lacrosse (Senior B) since 2023. Mr. Groob also covers the Green Gaels for their excursions to Prague at the Ales Hrebesky tournament since 2022. In 2024, when Major Series Lacrosse was in need of a media person, Gary stepped in as their interim media person. His tasks were running their social media, as well as their website until a full time person was found to fill the role. In 2025 Gary was voted onto the Board of Directors for Ontario Series Lacrosse. Mr. Groob hosts a weekly lacrosse interview show formerly on Spanglish Sports World, and ZingoTV channel 250, now on StreamPunkEnt.com, Youtube, as well as Spotify. Groob also hosts a lacrosse talk show and podcast for All Lacrosse All The Time seen live Sunday nights at 8pm (ET), and archived on the All Lacrosse All The Time YouTube page, as well as Spotify. Gary also wrote a weekly lacrosse editorial column for La Portada Canada News both in print and online for three years from 2021-2024. In 2025, Mr. Groob joined the ownership ranks, becoming a minority owner of StreamPunk Entertainment, ensuring Lacrosse will always have voice in media. Gary was voted onto the board of directors as the social media director for Ontario Series Lacrosse (OSL) in November of 2025. In 2026 Mr. Groob was nominated for the Ontario Lacrosse Hall of Fame, made a voting member of the NLL media, was put as a voting member in the Ales Hrebesky Tournament awards, and was nominated for the Tom Borelli Award as media person of the year for the NLL. Mr. Groob's other sports interests include Hockey, Football, Boxing, Wrestling, and Baseball, competing competitively in Boxing and Wrestling for many years.

The Owen Sound North Stars (8-9) visited the Oakville Rock (5-11) in Major Series Lacrosse action Monday night at the Toronto Rock Athletic Centre.

The goaltending match-up had Andrew Kidd in net for the North Stars facing Troy Holowchuk in net for the Rock.

Owen Sound took charge of this game early, and never relinquished their grip.  Led by Jackson Webster (2g,1a), Mitch Wilde (2g,2a), Greg Elijah-Brown (2g,2a), Noah Millsap (2g,1a), and Tanner Buck (3g,0a), the North Stars built a 10-2 lead late into the second period.

The third period saw Oakville get more offensive chances.  While they were able to capitalize three times in the period, the hole was just too deep to climb out of.  Owen Sound wins handily 11-7.

To The Game:

Oakville got on the board first when Sam LeClair converted a Josh Dawick pass at 0:51 seconds, but Mitch Wilde answered with a goal from in close off a Tyler Halls pass at 4:44.

Jackson Webster gave the North Stars their first lead with a sidearm snipe off a Josh Rosa pass at 6:27, followed by Tanner Buck finishing an Isiah Moran-Weekes pass 0:17 seconds later.

Jackson Webster continued the barrage with a low to low shot off a Josh Sanchez pass at 17:42, followed by Tanner Buck converting a Greg Elijah-Brown feed at 19:54.

After one period, Owen Sound 5 Oakville 1.

Second Period:

Greg Elijah-Brown opened the second period scoring with a power-play marker off a Jackson Webster pass at 1:52, but Zane Dalpe answered for Oakville with a nice shot from the side of the net off a Sam LeClair pass at 2:45.

Mitch Wilde scored his second of the game off a strong feed from Braydon Mayea at 4:53, followed by Greg Elijah-Brown with a quick stick off a Mitch Wilde pass at 8:33.

Noah Millsap added back to back goals to increase the North Stars lead to 10-2, before Sam LeClair added a pair of late goals to bring Oakville within six heading to the third period.

After two periods, Owen Sound 10 Oakville 4.

Third Period:

Carson Moyer opened the scoring for Oakville with a low to low laser to the corner off a Sam LeClair pass at 4:25, followed by a pair from Sam LeClair.   The first was a blast off a Josh Dawick pass at 7:49, followed by an outside laser off a Luke Robinson pass at 14:21.

Owen Sound got one more from Noah Millsap off a Joel Coyle feed at 17:26.

Final score, Owen Sound 11 Oakville 7.
Shots on goal favored the North Stars 54-53.
