The New York Atlas jumped all over the the Philadelphia Waterdogs from the semifinal’s opening whistle, putting Philly in a 6-0 hole. Then in the third quarter, this Atlas team would make another stretch of scoring. If New York spotted spacing in Philly’s defensive zone, the Atlas would take full advantage. Xander Dickson had a huge night with 4 goals. Connor Shellenberger with 5 points on 4 assists and a goal. The local kid himself Matt Traynor balled out with a hat trick and an assist. On one of Traynor’s goals, he brought the Philly to one of the Waterdogs defenders with some bully ball play.

The Waterdogs Intend To Be Hungry In 2026

From being a bottom feeder team last season to being in the semifinals, Philly did a great job progressing this season. Even though this game didn’t start the way the Waterdogs wanted to, Philly battled back. A couple of 2-point goals from Ben Wayer, and another from Jimmy Freehill. CJ Kirst and Michael Sowers each with a pair of goals. Philly showed no quit despite not being able to find the equalizing goal. The Waterdogs intend to come back hungrier in 2026, in search of their second PLL title.
