“Muffler” Mike…18-17  .514

Week 8 picks:

“Muffler” Mike:

Colorado vs. Halifax

Colorado. Dillon Ward looks sharp again, and Jack Hannah is giving the Mammoth offense a new dynamic. Halifax can’t seem to get out of their own way, especially in the PIM Department.

Ottawa vs. Buffalo

Ottawa. Memo to the Black Bears: it’s time to stop being mid and start being feared. A win in Banditland can be how that journey starts.

Calgary vs. Georgia

Calgary. First of two, and the Swarm have to travel to Alberta for both. Brett Dobson can only do so much in net, and I don’t think it’ll be enough against this underrated Roughnecks offense.

San Diego vs. Vancouver

Vancouver. If ever there was a chance for the Warriors to put one of their biggest rivals in a hole that might be too deep to climb out of, this is it.

Toronto vs. Rochester

Rochester. Current juggernaut vs. Future juggernaut…obviously the former is going to come out on top.

Oshawa vs. Saskatchewan

Oshawa. Glenn Clark has had success in the past dialing up a game plan to beat the Rush, even in Saskatoon. Doug Jamieson outduels Frank Scigliano as the Rush drop their first home tilt.

Philadelphia vs. Las Vegas

Las Vegas. This will likely be a shootout, which favors the Desert Dogs pulling away late.

Shawn:

Colorado vs. Halifax

Pick – Colorado

I’m just not sold on this Halifax team. They take way too many avoidable penalties. The Mammoth are missing Ryan Lee but I think they have enough man-power on the power play.

Ottawa vs. Buffalo

Pick – Buffalo

An interesting match up. Both teams live and die by big runs. Ottawa continues to find their groove I’m just not sure if they are quite at the same calibre as the Bandits.

Calgary vs. Georgia

Pick – Calgary

I’m sticking to my word, the Roughnecks are the most underrated team that is better than their record shows. Georgia is lacking consistency and their goal-scorers need to score.

San Diego vs. Vancouver

Pick – Vancouver

Vancouver has been underwhelming to start the season for all the big names on their roster. That being said, San Diego is completely out of sync. I can see the Warriors running away with this one.

Toronto vs. Rochester

Pick – Rochester

The Knighthawks proved last week they are the real deal. The Rock will keep it close with their young guys, but Rochester will take the win.

Oshawa vs. Saskatchewan

Pick – Saskatchewan

The Rush are riding high and Ryan Keenan is having a career year. Because of that, it really hard to defend against all the weapons the Rush have on offence and their transition is clicking.

Philadelphia vs. Las Vegas

Pick – Las Vegas

The Wings have good pieces in place, they just need to put it all together. Unfortunately for them, the Desert Dogs are lacking their wounds. Defense and goaltending is suspect for Las Vegas but they will overcome it.

Gary:

Colorado vs. Halifax

Halifax wins.

Halifax has had a few bad weeks, but they are much too talented to be down for long.  Colorado still has major gaps in their offense.  This will be a close game.

Ottawa vs. Buffalo

Buffalo wins.

Buffalo doesn’t lose two in a row.  Banditland will be rocking!  Look for the Bandits defense to be aggressive.   If the Black Bears can keep the runs to a minimum (something they haven’t done yet this year), they can grab the upset.

Calgary vs. Georgia

Calgary wins.

I really like the character of this Roughnecks team!  Josh Sanderson has them believing in each other.  Georgia has had all kinds of trouble scoring, and this game will be no different.

San Diego vs. Vancouver

Vancouver wins.

Vancouver hasn’t lived up to their potential yet.  This will change this week.  San Diego’s offense is having trouble, and Christian Del Bianco will be stingy in the Warriors net.

Toronto vs. Rochester

Rochester wins.

I like the Rock’s makeup, I just think the Knighthawks are such a talented and confident bunch, it’s hard to pick against them.

Oshawa vs. Saskatchewan

Saskatchewan wins.

While Oshawa finally got the whole team together last week, the undisciplined Halifax play had a part to do with that.  Saskatchewan has more discipline, and can score with the best of them.

Philadelphia vs. Las Vegas

Las Vegas wins.

Philadelphia will need to play a full sixty minutes on both sides of the ball if they want to win.  Vegas has lots of offense, but can be beat on defense.  If Philly can’t solve Kells, it could be a long night for them.

Mammoth

Pat:

Colorado vs. Halifax

Colorado

Ottawa vs. Buffalo

Buffalo

Calgary vs. Georgia

Georgia

San Diego vs. Vancouver

Vancouver

Toronto vs. Rochester

Rochester

Oshawa vs. Saskatchewan

Saskatchewan

Philadelphia vs. Las Vegas

Las Vegas

Caden:

Colorado vs. Halifax

Colorado-

I love how the Mammoth looked last week, especially with the new addition of Jack Hannah. The sky could be the limit with this team now, while Halifax is still struggling to put a full game together.

Ottawa vs. Buffalo

Buffalo-

I know I talked about momentum with the Black Bears, but until they (as Mike said) stop being mid and start bringing more fear to their opponents, I have to back the Bandits.

Calgary vs. Georgia

Calgary-

Let’s go with a team that seems to be flying under the radar. Against a Swarm team who struggles on the offensive side of the ball.

San Diego vs. Vancouver

Vancouver-

The Warriors have been mid, flat out. They have so much talent and yet they don’t seem to know what to do with it. However, this is their chance to finally ride a wave, take out the Seals.

Toronto vs. Rochester

Rochester-

Gonna stick with the most dangerous offense against a young, up and coming team

Oshawa vs. Saskatchewan

Saskatchewan-

The FireWolves have left ALOT to be desired, they still don’t seem to have “it.” And now I could be saying that cause I miss them, but I also say that because I can see the Rush, rushing them out of the building.

Philadelphia vs. Las Vegas

Las Vegas-

THE DAWGS ARE BARKING AND THEY WILL STAY BARKING AGAINST THE WINGS. LETS SEE A GOAL-FEST
