
The Coquitlam Adanacs used a dominant second period to erase an early deficit and defeat the Burnaby Lakers 10-5 on Tuesday night in WLA action.
The Adanacs broke open a back-and-forth contest with six unanswered goals spanning the second and third periods.
Connor Robinson led all scorers with two goals and three assists, while Robert Church had a hat trick. Andrew Gallant got the start in goal for the Adanacs and turned aside 35 shots for the win.
The win improves Coquitlam’s record to 7-5, as the Adanacs sit one game back of the Maple Ridge Burrards for second place.
Ethan M’Lot and Finn Halladay led the Lakers with a goal and three assists each. Ryan Favaro, Jake Young, and Ben Stewart were the other goal scorers for Burnaby.
Between the pipes, Marc Rippberger stopped 39 of 49 shots in the loss.
First Period
Burnaby struck first when Halladay opened the scoring at 8:35 before James Rahe answered just over a minute later to even the game.
The Lakers regained the lead on Favaro’s power-play goal with 4:59 left in the period.
The Adanacs responded with a pair of goals in the final 2:30. Adam Noakes tied the game at 17:38 before Church scored 25 seconds later to give Coquitlam a 3-2 advantage heading into the first intermission.

Second Period
The middle frame featured eight goals and several momentum swings.
Burnaby erased the deficit with even-strength goals from M’Lot and Young before Noakes tied the game again at 4-4.
Stewart then gave the Lakers a 5-4 lead with a shorthanded marker at 12:54, but that would prove to be Burnaby’s final goal of the night.
Church answered on the ensuing power play just 21 seconds later to spark the Adanacs’ decisive run.
Robinson put Coquitlam ahead for good with a power-play goal before Jalen Chaster added another man-advantage marker.
Robinson capped the period with his second goal with 47 seconds left, sending the Adanacs to the dressing room with an 8-5 lead.
Third Period
The Adanacs’ defence took over in the final 20 minutes, holding Burnaby off the scoresheet while Gallant stopped all 12 shots he faced.
Noakes completed his hat trick with a shorthanded goal at 8:09.
Church finished off his own three-goal performance with an even-strength marker at 16:57 to give the Coquitlam Adanacs a 10-5 victory.
