The Coquitlam Adanacs picked up a 10–6 win over the Burnaby Lakers on Saturday night to extend their win streak to four games.

The Adanacs are actually unbeaten in five, including a 9–9 tie against the Maple Ridge Burrards on May 31.

Coquitlam’s defence stood tall, allowing just two Lakers goals through two periods. It also helps having Christian Del Bianco in goal, as he stopped 43 of 49 shots in the win.

Adam Noakes led the Adanacs with a goal and three assists, while Brett McIntyre, Kean Moon, and James Rahe each scored twice.

Ben Stewart paced the Lakers with a goal and three assists, while Silas Richmond recorded a hat trick. At the faceoff dot, Gordie Phillips was dominate for the Lakers as he won 16 of 18 draws. Keegan Melenychuk and Marc Russell Rippberger split time in goal for Burnaby.

With the win, Coquitlam moves past Victoria into second place with a 5-1-1 record, although Victoria has a game in hand.

Quick Start for the Adanacs

Coquitlam jumped out to a quick 2–0 lead in the first period. Jalen Chaster scored at 5:49, followed by Robbie Turpin at 6:30 off a feed from Erik Turner.

The Lakers got on the board at 12:54 with a power-play goal from Silas Richmond to cut the Adanacs’ lead in half.

The Adanacs responded with another two-goal burst to close out the period. McIntyre scored at 15:11 and struck again on the power play with just two seconds left, giving Coquitlam a 4–1 lead after the first.

Adanacs Keep Their Foot on the Gas

Burnaby opened the second-period scoring, but the Adanacs answered with a four-goal run.

Thomas Vela scored for the Lakers at 3:12 to make it 4–2.

Noakes responded unassisted at 7:04 to begin the Adanacs’ surge. Rahe added a power-play goal at 8:37 to extend the lead to 6–2.

Moon then scored twice to close out the run—once at 9:14 off a Chaster assist, and again at 10:39 on a pass from Josh Jackson. Coquitlam carried an 8–2 lead into the third.

Coquitlams Win Streak Reaches Four Games

Burnaby tried to mount a comeback in the third, opening the period with three straight goals.

Bailey Newton scored 58 seconds in, converting a pass from Aiden Hindson.

Richmond followed with back-to-back goals, beating Del Bianco at 2:41 and again at 4:04 to narrow the gap to 8–5.

Coquitlam responded to put the game out of reach. Rahe scored at 12:03, and David Charney added another at 14:31 to restore a five-goal cushion.
