Gary Groob has been involved with Lacrosse for the majority of his life, whether playing, coaching, or covering the sport for the media. An avid fan, with a real drive about helping to "grow the game", Gary became part of podcasts about the game in 2010. Through the podcasts, Mr. Groob was given an opportunity to write about lacrosse, and the rest as they say, is history. Through many miles (flying and driving) Gary has made inroads with the National Lacrosse League, Major Series Lacrosse, Ontario Series Lacrosse, the Ontario Lacrosse Association, CUFLA, as well as the Arena Lacrosse League, covering the leagues, their teams, and players, working for, and in concert with all of them. In the year 2019, Mr. Groob was made the media person for the Arena Lacrosse League, voted onto the board of directors of the Brampton Excelsiors Lacrosse Club, as well as being made administrator of the Lacrosse page "Global Lacrosse" with a membership of 14,000+ members in over 90 Countries. Gary was also made an administrator of Lacrosse History Past Present and Future in 2022 with a membership of 19,000+. Gary also has been the media person for Ontario Series Lacrosse (Senior B) since 2023. Mr. Groob also covers the Green Gaels for their excursions to Prague at the Ales Hrebesky tournament since 2022. In 2024, when Major Series Lacrosse was in need of a media person, Gary stepped in as their interim media person. His tasks were running their social media, as well as their website until a full time person was found to fill the role. In 2025 Gary was voted onto the Board of Directors for Ontario Series Lacrosse. Mr. Groob hosts a weekly lacrosse interview show formerly on Spanglish Sports World, and ZingoTV channel 250, now on StreamPunkEnt.com, Youtube, as well as Spotify. Groob also hosts a lacrosse talk show and podcast for All Lacrosse All The Time seen live Sunday nights at 8pm (ET), and archived on the All Lacrosse All The Time YouTube page, as well as Spotify. Gary also wrote a weekly lacrosse editorial column for La Portada Canada News both in print and online for three years from 2021-2024. In 2025, Mr. Groob joined the ownership ranks, becoming a minority owner of StreamPunk Entertainment, ensuring Lacrosse will always have voice in media. Mr. Groob's other sports interests include Hockey, Football, Boxing, Wrestling, and Baseball, competing competitively in Boxing and Wrestling for many years.

SASK @ BUF Game 1

Saskatchewan. While the Bandits had an extra week of rest, I can’t overlook the Rush’s momentum coming off that Game 2 rally, or the 8-2 record on the road this season, including a complete dismantling of Halifax in Game 1 of the semifinals in Halifax.

BUF @ SASK Game 2

Saskatchewan. The Rush need to take care of business at home, or face the tallest of orders: having to win a second time in Banditland in order to win the NLL Cup.

Shawn Slaght:

Saskatchewan vs Buffalo (Game 1)

Pick – Saskatchewan

This is going to be an outstanding series and not much to pick between these two teams. Really, Saskatchewan has the momentum going into Game 1 and they are playing their best lacrosse right now. Add in that Saskatchewan has a strong road record and the Bandits have struggled at home, and I’ll give a slight advantage to the Rush.

Saskatchewan vs Buffalo (Game 2)

Pick – Buffalo

The last time these two teams met in the final, it only lasted two games (thanks, Jeff Cornwall). I don’t see that happening this time. History is on the line for the Bandits, and they aren’t back-to-back champions. I wouldn’t be surprised if Matt Vinc takes over this game and really frustrates the Sask offence.

Buffalo wins.

A rested Bandits team, with 19,000 screaming fans in Banditland is a tough thing to overcome for everyone.  While the Rush will play well, and late run will put the Bandits up 1-0.

Buffalo vs. Saskatchewan Game 2

Saskatchewan wins.

With their backs to the wall, the Rush will run the Bandits all over the floor.  Look for more crashing the net to make Matt Vinc uncomfortable, and lure the Buffalo D out of their “3 Goalie” position.  Buffalo will get themselves in penalty trouble in this game.

Pick – Saskatchewan

Now the safe pick would be the Bandits and why wouldn’t it, defending champs making it back to the big dance, but I will take the Rush. I want to take the Rush because I feel as if their stellar offense will immediately jump upon the Bandits to the point where they will not be able to respond or answer in anyway. And yes the Bandits will keep it a game to the very end, but look for the Rush to shut down any late Bandit push.

Pick – Buffalo

This is where Buffalo fights back, they will not go down in 2 games, no way no how. After a hard fought game one, the Bandits will be able to pick up on their mistakes and answer back in what I think could be a dominant fashion. Give me Buffalo in game 2.
