Week 11 picks:

“Muffler” Mike:

COL @ GA

Georgia. Coming home after snapping a 3-game losing streak will be just what the doctor ordered for the Swarm.

CGY @ VAN

Vancouver. Their play may be streaky, but I can’t deny that there’s something special about the Warriors’ recent home win streak, which stays intact this weekend.

HFX @ PHI

Halifax. The Thunderbirds defense is big and physical, which I think will give the Wings’ offense some trouble.

SD @ TOR

Toronto. The Rock are nearly fully healthy, while the Seals are missing key players on offense and defense, and the goaltending is not at the same level as last year.

Shawn:

Colorado vs Georgia

Pick – Colorado

I’m anticipating a close game. Both teams have had their share of inconsistencies. I feel that the Mammoth have managed to push back against opponents more.

Calgary vs Vancouver

Pick – Vancouver

This is a completely different Vancouver team than what we are used to and Aden Walsh has settled in well in goal. Calgary relies just a bit too much on their vet and Cam MacLeod has been up and down.

Halifax vs Philadelphia

Pick – Philadelphia

Yes the Wings took a drubbing against Rochester last weekend but I’m not about to give up on them yet. The talent is there and when they fire on all cylinders they are tough to beat.

San Diego vs Toronto

Pick – Toronto

Not all is well on the sunny beaches of San Diego. Their offence is stagnant and can’t score and goaltending hasn’t been at its best. The Rock are healthy and putting the league on notice.

Gary:

Colorado vs. Georgia

Colorado wins.

The Mammoth were within an eyelash of beating the Rock last week.  Georgia hasn’t looked the same since game three of the season.  This is going to go down to the final play, with Colorado coming out on top.

Calgary vs. Vancouver

Vancouver wins.

I still think this Warriors team is playing under their potential.  Look for Crowley, Charalambides, and Bal all to have good nights.  While Calgary is good, Toronto exposed them a few weeks back.  Look for Curt Malawsky and company to exploit them.

Halifax vs. Philadelphia

Philadelphia wins.

The Wings will need to sort out their defensive struggles if they want to get back in the win column.   This is going to be a high scoring game, setting the stage for part two next week.

San Diego vs. Toronto

Toronto wins.

A couple of weeks ago I might have tipped the edge to the Seals.  Since then, the Seals haven’t been able to find the net with an OnStar System, while the Rock have gotten healthy both on offense and defense.  This could be a long night for the Seals.

Pat:

Georgia vs. Colorado

Georgia

Calgary vs. Vancouver

Calgary

Halifax vs. Philadelphia

Halifax

San Diego vs. Toronto

San Diego

Caden:

Colorado vs Georgia

Pick – Colorado

The Mammoth are coming off a tough overtime loss to the Rock, however I feel like this will feed them. 57 saves for Dillon Ward in the loss was outstanding and I’m gonna be banking on Ward holding the line for Colorado.

Calgary vs Vancouver

Pick – Vancouver

The Warriors have really picked it up, Walsh has looked very solid in net and with Vancouver riding a 3 game winning streak while playing at home, It seems hard to bet against the Warriors right now.

Halifax vs Philadelphia

Pick – Philadelphia

I’m gonna have to agree with Shawn here. While the Wings are coming off a tough loss to Rochester, I just can’t see them dropping their second straight game with how much talent is on this roster.

San Diego vs Toronto

Pick – Toronto

Toronto has gone streaking baby! I mentioned last week that this team is finally starting to get healthy (minus Mark Matthews) and when they are healthy they are incredibly tough to beat. On top of the fact that San Diego has struggled immensely this season does not bode well for their game against the Rock. I’ll be taking Toronto.
