Week 9 picks:
“Muffler” Mike:
TOR @ CGY
Toronto. A key road win keeps the Rock on the comeback trail in the Unified Standings.
OTT @ VAN
Vancouver. The Warriors will be out for revenge with a chance to climb back over the .500 mark for the season.
COL @ ROC
Colorado. Both sides have plenty of offensive firepower, but the edge on the back end goes to the Mammoth with Dillon Ward in net.
ALB @ SASK
Saskatchewan. With Robert Church back in the lineup and Ryan Keenan having a resurgence, I think the Rush once again edge out a now-desperate FireWolves squad.
Shawn:
Toronto vs Calgary
Pick – Toronto
The Rock are finally getting healthy. Getting TD Ierlan and Tom Schreiber back has been huge for this team. While it sounds like Mark Matthews is out long term, I don’t think it’ll hamper Toronto.
Ottawa vs Vancouver
Pick – Ottawa
This will be the game of the week. I just get the feeling Ottawa will come away with the victory. Higgins is playing some of his best lacrosse and is stealing games in goal and Jeff Teat is finally getting help.
Colorado vs Rochester
Pick – Colorado
Even though they lost last week, I have to go with the Mammoth. Rochester just seems to hot-and-cold and I just can’t get a read on them because they are so inconsistent.
Albany vs Saskatchewan
Pick – Saskatchewan
Albany will have a tough hill to climb. The Rush have been playing well. Their only two losses came in overtime and one bad quarter. They have the weapons that I don’t see them losing two in a row.
Gary:
Toronto vs Calgary
Toronto wins.
The Rock finally showed signs of getting out of their funk. They have stated that every game is a playoff game from here on out.
Ottawa vs Vancouver
Ottawa wins.
I really like this Ottawa team! Balanced attack, good defense, and solid goaltending. Vancouver is on a bit of a funk.
Colorado vs Rochester
Colorado wins.
I can’t figure out this Rochester team this year. They have been too inconsistent. Colorado has been strongest of the year. This will be the game of the week!
Albany vs Saskatchewan
Albany wins.
I think the FireWolves are due for a few wins in a row. Last week it looked like they put it all together. Saskatchewan played okay against Toronto, but not great.

Pat:
Toronto vs Calgary
Calgary
Ottawa vs Vancouver
Vancouver
Colorado vs Rochester
Rochester
Albany vs Saskatchewan
Saskatchewan
Caden:
Toronto vs Calgary
Pick: Toronto
The Rock are finally starting to get healthy, and with Schreiber and Ierlan making their return to help the Rock win their first, I also think their return will help them win their second. I’ll be taking the Rock.
Ottawa vs Vancouver
Pick: Ottawa
A battle of 2 great teams this season, but my pick will go to the Black Bears. I will keep preaching the ‘Nathan Grenon Effect’ but I can not look past Jeff Teat in anyway shape or form, I’ll take the Black Bears in a close matchup.
Colorado vs Rochester
Pick: Colorado
While the Mammoth did take a loss, I feel like it won’t keep them down for long, I expect the Mammoth to come back looking to avenge their most recent loss. This game will be lead by the Connors for Colorado, Robinson and Kelly who always seem to put on the gas at the right moments.
Albany vs Saskatchewan
Pick: Albany
I’m gonna go back with Albany, while the smart pick might be the Rush with how they played as of late, the Albany team I saw last week is finally starting to look confident and as Alex Simmons said “they like to play in front of big crowds.” I’ll be take the FireWolves avenging their loss to the Rush earlier this season.
