Week 15 picks:

“Muffler” Mike:

TOR @ HFX

Halifax. I can’t go against the hottest team in the league, even if the Thunderbirds looked uninspired against Las Vegas last week, and even if the Rock have a significantly different look after the numerous personnel moves made last week.

ROC @ LV

Rochester. The Knighthawks claw their way back to .500 and show they belong in the playoff picture.

VAN @ SD

Vancouver. We’ve been looking for a true statement game from the Warriors all season long. No more excuses – this NEEDS to be the week that happens.

CGY @ BUF

Buffalo. Riding high after opening a two-game lead over everyone else in the league, the Bandits cruise at home.

ALB @ PHI

Philadelphia. Speaking of NEED, the Wings exact revenge and get back to .500 themselves, jumping up the standings.

SASK @ GA

Georgia. Don’t get me wrong, the Rush will rebound from the missed opportunity to move into first place. However, the Swarm have righted the ship and can mount a charge for second place in the standings with a win here.

Shawn:

Toronto vs Halifax

Pick – Halifax

The Rock have sold off some key pieces as they look towards high draft picks. On the other hand, Halifax has found its groove and I can see them cruising to a win.

Rochester vs Las Vegas

Pick – Rochester

Something is wrong in Desert Dog Land. They need to get offence from more than just one or two guys. Rochester is another team on the upswing and it will continue.

Vancouver vs San Diego

Pick – San Diego

This is a tough one as these are two very inconsistent teams. I’m going to give San Diego the slight edge. It seems like Chris Origlieri is back in form and could be a difference-maker.

Calgary vs Buffalo

Pick – Buffalo

Calgary has made strides to get better, but the Bandits are just a force to be reckoned with. Calgary might keep it close, but Buffalo will come out on top.

Albany vs Philadelphia

Pick – Philadelphia

The Wings have to defeat Albany at some point, right? Picking up Mitch de Snoo and Chris Corbeil fills holes that have been missing badly for the Wings. They’ll be a completely different team with those two on defence.

Saskatchewan vs Georgia

Pick – Georgia

My heart tells me Rush, but my gut tells me Swarm, and I have to go with my gut. The chance that the Rush might be without Robert Church again could be huge. I wouldn’t be surprised if this is a one-goal game.

Gary:

Toronto vs. Halifax

Halifax wins.

With the trades, Toronto is going to give the young guys playing time to see what they have and what they need.  Halifax has been the hottest team in the league recently, and I see no reason why that would change here.

Rochester vs. Las Vegas

Rochester wins.

This Knighthawks team has finally figured it out.  The last few games they have looked more like the team I thought should have been there at the start of the year.  Las Vegas is just too inconsistent for me to give attention too….yet.

Vancouver vs. San Diego

San Diego wins.

Vancouver has suffered all year with an underperforming offense.  The Seals team is starting to get their mojo back.  As players get healthier, they will be much more dangerous.

Calgary vs. Buffalo

Buffalo wins.

The Nick Rose curse against Buffalo is real!  The Bandits are just too strong and too deep for Calgary to keep up with.

Albany vs. Philadelphia

Philadelphia wins.

While Albany won handily a couple of weeks ago, that was before Paul Day traded for a dominant transition game.  Look for Albany to get side tracked with de Snoo, Corbeil, and Simpson, leaving Riorden, Jones, Resetarits, Sowers, and O’Neill more room to work their magic.

Saskatchewan vs. Georgia

Georgia wins.

The Swarm has looked quite good the last few games.  Miles Thompson adds a whole other dimension to the mix.  While I think Saskatchewan could pull it off, having Robert Church out of the lineup again is the deciding factor for me.

Caden:

Toronto vs Halifax

Pick – Halifax

The Rock are selling and they may not stop. The tank for 2026 may be on right now and I don’t know how anyone can pick against the Thunderbirds right now.

Rochester vs Las Vegas

Pick – Rochester

Rochester will look to keep winning against one of the worst teams in the league at the moment. I’ll take the Knighthawks until Vegas can figure it out.

Vancouver vs San Diego

Pick – San Diego

Two teams that have struggled mightily to put it together. I’ll take San Diego this week and I’ll mark Tre LeClaire as the man to lead the way.

Calgary vs Buffalo

Pick – Buffalo

The Roughnecks are seriously pushing for that playoff spot but this week won’t be their week to win with Nick Rose. I’ll take the Bandits in what could be closer than we realize.

Albany vs Philadelphia

Pick – Philadelphia

I WANT TO PICK ALBANY I WANT TO. But we just keep struggling. We look great one week, and then falter the next, and with the additions that the Wings made I feel as if they need to take this game.

Saskatchewan vs Georgia

Pick – Saskatchewan

A close and tough loss last week for the Rush against the Bandits shouldn’t shake up their hopes. I feel like the Rush will go back to their winning ways this week.
