Week 18 picks:
“Muffler” Mike:
OTT @ PHI
Ottawa. The easiest pick of the week, as the Black Bears showed fight over two games, nearly winning both. Meanwhile the Wings have seemingly shown zero fight in setting a franchise record for consecutive losses.
SD @ ROC
San Diego. The impacts of Trevor Baptiste and Kyle Rubisch returning to the Seals lineup cannot be overstated here, even if the Knighthawks currently own the longest win streak in the league.
VAN @ BUF
Buffalo. The recent addition of Christian Del Bianco to the Warriors makes this game much more intriguing than it would have been several weeks ago. However, despite their pedestrian 3-3 record over the last six games, I have a hard time seeing the Bandits losing back-to-back.
COL @ SASK
Saskatchewan. Similar situation as above here – Dillon Ward will likely be back in net for Colorado, but I give the Rush offense the edge over a depleted Mammoth front end.
HFX @ GA
Halifax. The Thunderbirds are playing about as well as anyone in the league, despite the occasional hiccup. Plus, I just can’t trust the Swarm to play a full and consistent 60 minutes right now.
Shawn:
Ottawa vs Philadelphia
Pick – Ottawa
Philadelphia is a head-scratcher. They look completely lost, and a turnaround doesn’t look optimistic. Ottawa has lacked consistency, but they should be able to come away with the win.
San Diego vs Rochester
Pick – San Diego
This was a tough pick for me because both teams are playing their best lacrosse right now. I just get a feeling that San Diego has just a bit more firepower compared to Rochester.
Vancouver vs Buffalo
Pick – Buffalo
Buffalo may have lost to Albany, but I wouldn’t be sounding the alarm bells just yet. Vancouver will give them a hell of a game, and it’ll be close, but the Bandits are still the top team.
Colorado vs Saskatchewan
Pick – Saskatchewan
Whether Dillon Ward is back or not is a moot point to me. Saskatchewan has far more depth than Colorado, and it’ll come out in this game.
Halifax vs Georgia
Pick – Halifax
I have to go with the Thunderbirds. They’ve found their groove again, while Georgia has been wildly inconsistent to the point I just can’t figure them out.
Gary:
Ottawa vs. Philadelphia
Ottawa wins.
Ottawa looked quite good last weekend. I can’t say the same for Philadelphia. Until the Wings play TEAM ball, their troubles won’t subside.
San Diego vs. Rochester
Rochester wins.
While San Diego has played well recently, the Knighthawks have been white hot! A rested Knighthawks crew and a healthy Seals crew will be the game of the week. I give the slight edge to the home team.
Vancouver vs. Buffalo
Buffalo wins.
Another game that will be as close as can be. These teams match up very well. The 7th man is the 19,000+ in Banditland.
Colorado vs. Saskatchewan
Saskatchewan wins.
Colorado is playing too inconsistent. Saskatchewan legitimately is trying to finish in first. Offensively I think the Rush have more weapons at the moment.
Halifax vs. Georgia
Halifax wins.
I just can’t figure out Georgia! Halifax has been an offensive juggernaut. I think the Swarm will have a tough time keeping up with them.

Pat:
Ottawa vs. Philadelphia
Ottawa
San Diego vs. Rochester
San Diego Seals
Vancouver vs. Buffalo
Buffalo
Colorado vs. Saskatchewan
Saskatchewan
Halifax vs. Georgia
Halifax
Caden:
Ottawa vs Philadelphia
Pick – Ottawa
Oh how the mighty have fallen, poor Wings. I’ll take Ottawa here, Mike and Shawn both mentioned how the Wings have struggled MIGHTILY, I can’t see Philadelphia coming away with the win.
San Diego vs Rochester
Pick – San Diego
Give me the Seals here, Trevor Baptiste and Kyle Rubisch are back in the lineup giving the Seals that much needed boost.
Vancouver vs Buffalo
Pick – Buffalo
After being upset by Albany last week, the Bandits are gonna be out for revenge, but standing in their way is a new life Warriors squad backed by CDB. I expect this to be a barn burner that the Bandits will come away with in the end.
Colorado vs Saskatchewan
Pick – Saskatchewan
The Rush are arguably the best team in the league at the moment and while Colorado is still riding that ‘next man up mantra’ I just feel as if it’s gonna stop against Saskatchewan.
Halifax vs Georgia
Pick – Halifax
We have talked about this week in and week out. Since Warren Hill took that rest it seems like the Thunderbirds are near unstoppable. Give me Halifax against a Georgia team that doesn’t seem to know how to put a full game together.
