Week 20 picks:

“Muffler” Mike:

VAN @ TOR

Vancouver. The Warriors have looked better each week since Christian Del Bianco arrived – another win puts them in line for a first round home playoff game, and eliminates the Rock from postseason contention.

LV @ OTT

Ottawa. I’m tempted to go with the Desert Dogs after their uplifting OT win last week, but it’s a must-win for the Black Bears if they want to keep their playoff hopes alive.

SD @ ALB

Albany. The FireWolves outrun a Seals team that, while healthy now, are still older and tiring. San Diego finds themselves on the verge of missing the postseason for the first time in franchise history.

GA @ PHI

Philadelphia. I like what I saw from the Wings last week, with everyone stepping up in response to the Mitch Jones ejection. I believe we’ll see more of the same this week, with Jones adding to the onslaught. Georgia also finds themselves on the brink of missing the playoffs.

HFX @ BUF

Halifax. The Bandits righted the ship, but against a depleted Mammoth team that doesn’t play as physical as the Thunderbirds. Banditland should be extremely concerned about the team playing at a .500 clip since their 7-0 start.

SASK @ COL

Saskatchewan. The Rush bounce back after a tough Battle of the Prairies rematch. Week 20 ends with none of the eight-win teams solidifying their playoff hopes.

Shawn:

Vancouver vs Toronto

Pick – Vancouver

This Vancouver team has been completely different since picking up CDB. This is a Toronto team that’s retooling (I wouldn’t call it a complete rebuild), while Vancouver actually looks like a championship contender.

Las Vegas vs Ottawa

Pick – Ottawa

Las Vegas actually showed some signs of life last weekend. However, I don’t think it will last. Higgins will come up huge this game.

San Diego vs Albany

Pick – San Diego

Two teams in different situations. Yes, Albany is still mathematically alive, but playoffs are doubtful. San Diego is in the playoff picture and needs to claw to stay in it.

Georgia vs Philadelphia

Pick – Georgia

Philly actually put together a strong effort last weekend. The problem is we need to see it on a regular basis. I think there is just too much talent on this Georgia team for the Wings to handle.

Halifax vs Buffalo

Pick – Buffalo

Buffalo is not playing their best ball right now, making this a tough choice because Halifax is creeping up the standings. I feel like the Bandits are veteran enough to right the ship.

Saskatchewan vs Colorado

Pick – Saskatchewan

Rush Nation, don’t hit the panic button. Even though Saskatchewan lost last weekend, there were still a lot of positives to take away, and they need to keep their first-place hopes alive. On the other hand, Colorado is really banged up, and their playoff hopes will start fading.

Gary:

Vancouver vs. Toronto

Vancouver wins.

This Vancouver team is on a mission!  Toronto is working towards next season, looking at what’s in the system.   Del Bianco shuts the door yet again!

Las Vegas vs. Ottawa

Ottawa wins.

The Black Bears had their worst showing of the season last week, while the Desert Dogs played one of their best games.  This week will be different.   Look for Jeff Teat to run wild on the Vegas defense.

San Diego vs. Albany

San Diego wins.

San Diego had a rough time last week.  Albany is now in the same mode as the Rock, working towards next season.  The Seals win handily.

Georgia vs. Philadelphia

Georgia wins.

Georgia should have won the last game against Philly, and surely won’t drop two to this group.

Halifax vs. Buffalo

Halifax wins.

Halifax needs this game if they want a home playoff date.  Buffalo just needs to stay healthy.  It will be entertaining, and it will go to the wire.   Halifax edges the Bandits late.

Saskatchewan vs. Colorado

Saskatchewan wins.

Saskatchewan played a horrible fourth quarter last week.  Look for them to bounce back with an exclamation point victory!

Roughnecks

Pat:

Vancouver vs. Toronto

Vancouver

Las Vegas vs. Ottawa

Ottawa

San Diego vs. Albany

San Diego

Georgia vs. Philadelphia

Georgia

Halifax vs. Buffalo

Buffalo

Saskatchewan vs. Colorado

Saskatchewan

Caden:

Vancouver vs Toronto

Pick – Vancouver

The Warriors have had a beautiful resurgence since acquiring CDB, and taking on a Rock team who are rebuilding now, give me Vancouver to win and clinch their first playoff spot since 2017.

Las Vegas vs Ottawa

Pick – Ottawa

The Desert Dogs picked up a huge win in OT last week against Toronto, and while I would love to see them do it again and upset the playoff table a bit, but I can’t see Ottawa losing this must win game.

San Diego vs Albany

Pick – Albany

LET IT RIDE. I know that Albany is mathematically out but since the trade deadline they have looked better, and unlike Las Vegas I want Albany to upset the table.

Georgia vs Philadelphia

Pick – Philadelphia

The Wings looked very good in their win last week, and while it more or less is a sign of false hope that right at the end of the season, I’m here for chaos over reliability, give me Philly to upset the table like Albany.

Halifax vs Buffalo

Pick – Buffalo

Now I know I just said I want the chaos, but these next 2 games are possibly the most predictable, Buffalo has struggled but their win last week should right their ship to the end of the season and as they look to win their third straight championship.

Saskatchewan vs Colorado

Pick – Saskatchewan

Rush Nation, we need to have a heart to heart like I had with Banditland last week. Are you guys ok? I mean yes of course you are, so show it here and beat a banged up Mammoth squad.
