Caden………………14-13  .519
“Muffler” Mike…13-14  .481

Week 7 picks:

“Muffler” Mike:

Halifax vs. Ottawa

Ottawa. What a difference a week makes. Taking the Black Bears, I believe they will get out to a good start and keep up the pressure on a now-reeling Halifax squad.

Rochester vs. Philadelphia

Philadelphia. The Wings apply some lessons learned during the first meeting to find a way to split the season series.

Vancouver vs. Calgary

Vancouver. The only meeting between these two teams this season is sure to be a slugfest. Malawsky’s band of former Roughnecks return on Dane Dobbie’s honorary night, and walk out with the win.

Saskatchewan vs. Las Vegas

Saskatchewan. I like how Vegas responded late against Buffalo (injured Bandit defenders or not), but the Rush are alone at the top of the standings and aim to keep it that way.

Toronto vs. San Diego

San Diego. Pechanga Arena is a difficult place to earn a road win. I don’t see the Rock making it three straight wins for a visitor here.

Buffalo vs. Rochester

Rochester. Doubleheader or not, this game was circled on the  Knighthawks calendar, and they will be ready to knock the current champs down a peg.

Halifax vs. Oshawa

Oshawa. The FireWolves’ offense finally awakened despite last week’s loss. Plus, I’ve seen this movie once before in Albany: Jake Withers goes perfect at the X with Joe Nardella out, yet the Thunderbirds still lose.

Colorado vs. Georgia

Colorado. Revenge game loading…the lackluster result two weeks ago clearly lit a fire under the Mammoth. Meanwhile, the play of Brett Dobson and the newest draft picks seems to be the only thing going well for the Swarm right now.

Shawn:

Halifax vs Ottawa

Pick – Ottawa

Halifax needs to stay out of the box. Plain and simple. They can win if they do that. However, a power play with Jeff Teat could be the downfall for Halifax.

Rochester vs Philadelphia

Pick – Rochester

Unfortunately, I just don’t see how Philly wins this one. Rochester is reeling for the loss and will take it out on the Wings.

Vancouver vs Calgary

Pick – Vancouver

This one is going to be a lot closer than it looks on paper. Calgary is scoring by committee and Aiden Walsh is looking solid. However, I have to go with the more experienced Warriors team.

Saskatchewan vs Las Vegas

Pick – Saskatchewan

When this Rush team plays 60 minutes there is no doubt they are one of the best in the league. Vegas will give them a game. I feel like Kells could struggle one-on-one with Saskatchewan’s transition game.

Toronto vs San Diego

Pick – Toronto

This is definitely a rebuild year for San Diego. Their offence has been struggling and goaltending has quite been up to par. This is just what the doctor ordered for the Rock.

Buffalo vs Rochester

Pick – Buffalo

If it wasn’t for the back-to-back games for Rochester I’d go with them. Unfortunately, a tired Rochester team versus a rested Bandits team could be a recipe for disaster. The Knighthawks will keep it close until late in the game.

Halifax vs Oshawa

Pick – Halifax

Penalty troubles aside, the Halifax team is too good to stay down. They will be out for revenge. Oshawa looked good last week but I’m not sure if it is sustainable.

Colorado vs Georgia

Pick – Colorado

The Mammoth are proving to be the real deal and the Jack Hannah trade has made a big difference. Even if Ryan Lee is out, this team has always had a next-man-up mentality. As for Georgia, they still need to find consistency.

Gary:

Halifax vs. Ottawa

Halifax wins.

After two tough performances against the Rush, the come to Jesus moment has arrived.  Look for a very focused Halifax team.  Ottawa will push them to the brink with Jeff Teat, Reilly O’Connor and company, but the Thunderbirds will find a way to prevail.

Rochester vs. Philadelphia

Rochester wins.

With the Knighthawks looking pretty average last week, look for a more rejuvenated squad to come to the Wells Fargo Center.  The Wings have shown some very strong moments, but also inconsistentcy. Look for more of a repeat from two weeks ago.

Vancouver vs. Calgary

Vancouver wins.

While Calgary has been playing well, a rested Warriors team will be ready.  Look for Christian Del Bianco have a big night in net.  If  Vancouver allows the Calgary transition game to get going, it could be a different story however.

Saskatchewan vs. Las Vegas

Saskatchewan wins.

Saskatchewan is scary when they play all sixty minutes.   Las Vegas has got a great offense, but the defense still has a little bit to go to catch up.  I give the slight edge to the Rush.

Toronto vs. San Diego

Toronto wins.

While both teams have had their struggles, I feel with last week’s bye week the Rock was able to get on the same page.  Offensively there is a lot of talent in the Rock lineup, but they can’t settle for outside shots only if they are going to succeed.

Buffalo vs. Rochester

Buffalo wins.

This is a huge test for the Knighthawks.  Can they knock off the champs and solve Matt Vinc?  Buffalo has been steady, and healthy.  This is my game of the week!

Halifax vs. Oshawa

Halifax wins.

The Thunderbirds owned the FireWolves the last time they met.  Warren Hill was spectacular in net.  This is a must have weekend for Halifax after the last couple of weeks with Saskatchewan.   They know the importance to their season.

Colorado vs. Georgia

Colorado wins.

Although the Mammoth got some hard news with the season ending Injury to Ryan Lee, I still think they will be focused on the task at hand.  Georgia embarrassed them last time they met, Colorado is looking for redemption.

Roughnecks

Pat:

Halifax vs. Ottawa

Halifax

Rochester vs. Philadelphia

Rochester

Vancouver vs. Calgary

Vancouver

Saskatchewan vs. Las Vegas

Saskatchewan

Toronto vs. San Diego

San Diego

Buffalo vs. Rochester

Buffalo

Halifax vs. Oshawa

Oshawa

Colorado vs. Georgia

Colorado

Caden:

Halifax vs. Ottawa

Ottawa-

Love seeing the life back in the Black Bears, if Jeff Teat is winning, we are all winning. I see Ottawa keeping up the momentum.

Rochester vs. Philadelphia

Rochester-

The More Things Change The More They Stay The Same.
What changes? The venue
What stays the same? A Rochester victory
The Wings finally might be taking the steps in the right direction, but the Knighthawks will step on their toes and pick up the season sweep.

Vancouver vs. Calgary

Vancouver-

I’m not sure who to take here, I guess give me Vancouver because CDB is still CDB.

Saskatchewan vs. Las Vegas

Las Vegas-

I’m gonna keep riding the Vegas wave. Tough loss last week against the Bandits, and now they face the best team in the NLL, but I can sense the upset in the air, give me the Desert Dogs.

Toronto vs. San Diego

San Diego-

On the verge of their third straight home loss, but I think what Mike says is true, with how hard it is to play in San Diego, the Seals can let another win slip out of their fingers.

Buffalo vs. Rochester

Rochester-

The Knighthawks could have played five straight days coming into tonight and I still would have picked them. Rochester is ready to show Buffalo who runs LAX in NY now.

Halifax vs. Oshawa

Halifax-

I have them taking the loss against Ottawa and they won’t accept a second one on the doubleheader. Give me the Thunderbirds.

Colorado vs. Georgia

Colorado-

Just like Rochester with Buffalo, Colorado has this game circled as they want revenge, and I think they get it. As mentioned above, the Swarm have little to nothing going well for them at the moment and the Mammoth have fire in their eyes.?
