
The Maple Ridge Burrards won 9-7 to force Game 5 in their WLA semifinal series against the Coquitlam Adanacs on Tuesday night.
The Burrards were led by Marcus Klarich with a pair of goals and three assists for five points. Tyler Pace finished the night with two goals and two assists, while Josh Mills had a goal and three assists, and Payton Cormier added four assists.
Jack Kask was solid in goal for Maple Ridge, stopping 33 of 40 shots for the win.
Coquitlam was led by Kean Moon with a goal and three assists, while Adam Noakes had four assists. Connor Robinson finished the game with two goals and one assist.
Between the pipes, Christian Del Bianco stopped 29 of 38 shots.
First Period
The Adanacs opened the scoring at 10:19 when James Rahe converted a pass from Moon.
The Burrards responded late in the period, scoring twice in a span of just 27 seconds.
Drew Andre tied the game with 2:58 left before Riley Loewen gave Maple Ridge its first lead with 2:31 on the clock. The Burrards carried a 2-1 lead into the first intermission.
Second Period
Maple Ridge extended its lead early in the second when Mills scored 1:54 into the period, with assists from Klarich and Andre.
Moon brought Coquitlam back within two at 7:23, but Carter Linkletter restored the Burrards’ three-goal advantage just over two minutes later.
Garret Winter then scored on the power play at 11:13 to make it 5-2.
The Adanacs responded before the end of the period. Eli Salama scored at 12:20 as Coquitlam trailed 5-3 heading into the third period.
Third Period
The third period turned into a back-and-forth battle.
Pace scored on the power play at 3:14 to give the Burrards a 6-3 lead, but Coquitlam answered with goals from Jalen Chaster and Robinson just 34 seconds apart to get within one.
Klarich restored the two-goal lead at 14:06, but Robinson scored his second of the period less than a minute later to make it 7-6.
Pace then delivered another big goal for Maple Ridge at 16:03, making it 8-6.
Rahe answered with an extra attacker on the floor at 16:24, setting up a tense finish.
Klarich sealed the win at 18:32 to give the Burrards a 9-7 victory and force Game 5 on Thursday night in Maple Ridge. The winner will face the Victoria Shamrocks in the WLA championship final.
