The Oakville Rock (5-8) traveled to the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena to face the Six Nations Chiefs (12-1) in Major Series Lacrosse action Tuesday night.
The goaltending match-up had Troy Holowchuk in net for the Rock facing Warren Hill in net for the Chiefs.
The Rock added a couple of more pieces before the game with Adam Jay, and Bill Hostrawser joining the back end. The first period reflected the added pieces with the teams deadlocked 1-1 in a defensive struggle.
The second and third periods had Six Nations finding answers to the Oakville defense getting on a nine goal run to change the momentum of the game. The Buffalo Bandits connection of Josh Byrne, Dhane Smith, Steve Priolo, and Ian MacKay played a big role in the shift with ten points amongst the bunch.
While Oakville tried to mount an offense in the third period, Six Nations played solid, physical defense to keep the Rock at bay. While the Chiefs kept pushing forward, the tempo slowed. Six Nations concentrated on killing time, as well as controlling play throughout the frame. Six Nations cruises to a 10-3 victory over the Oakville Rock.
