The Brooklin Lacrosse Club (10-7) traveled west to face the  Six Nations Chiefs (15-2) Wednesday night in Major Series Lacrosse action at the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena in Haggersville, Ontario.

The goaltending match-up had Warren Hill in net for the Chiefs facing Zach Higgins in net for Brooklin.

The Brooklin (BLC) defense started the game on point.  Not giving any breathing room, the Chiefs were held scoreless in the first period.   The offense was also working well, led by a pair of goals from Brady Kearnan the BLC got out to a 3-0 lead after one.

Six Nations stormed back in the second half of the second period with four goals.  Transition was the order of the frame with the teams scoring a combined three goals.  The Teams were tied 4-4 after two setting the stage for a barn-burner of a third period.

The period didn’t disappoint with both teams racing up and down the floor for the majority of the frame.  Dhane Smith gave the Chiefs a bit of a cushion scoring off a Shayne Jackson pass, but Bo Columbus tied the game with yet another transition goal.  Ryan Smith got his second of the game late to give the Chiefs the lead 6-5.

With the goalie on the bench Brooklin pressured Six Nations, but Warren Hill was up to the challenge.  Tyson Bell added an empty net goal to give the Chiefs the 7-5 victory.
