The Owen Sound North Stars (2-5) traveled east to face the Brooklin Lacrosse Club (6-2) in Major Series Lacrosse action Wednesday night.
The goaltending match-up had Andrew Kidd in net for Owen Sound facing Steve Orleman in net for Brooklin.
A thoroughly entertaining game that went back and forth all evening, finally ended in overtime with Taggert Clark (4g,1a) potting his fourth of the night. Brooklin won narrowly 9-8. Chris Boushy (2g,2a), and Nate Woods added a pair each in the victory, with Steve Orleman making 32 saves.
Andrew Kidd was excellent in the North Stars net making 45 saves on the night. Jackson Webster (3g,5a) was the standout for Owen Sound being involved in all of the North Stars goals. Isiah Moran-Weekes (2g,4a) also had a good night in the loss.
To The Game:
Chris Boushy got things started quickly for Brooklin scoring just 0:24 seconds into the game in transition off a pass from Jake Darlison, but Jackson Webster answered with a blast off a Joel Coyle feed for the North Stars at 3:03 to tie the game.
Taggert Clark gave Brooklin the lead once again with an in close beauty off a Chris Boushy feed at 7:44 followed by his secomd of the period off a Mike Byrne pass at 7:45.
Jackson Webster answered with another blast off a Tanner Buck pass at 12:09, but Nate Woods replied with a goal in transition off a Michael White pass 0:30 seconds later.
Isiah Moran-Weekes brought the North Stars within one again with a high to low shot unassisted at 16:05.
After one period, Brooklin 4 Owen Sound 3.
Second Period:
Taggert Clark scored his third of the game off a Brady Kearnan feed to open the second period scoring at 2:05, but a second goal from Isiah Moran-Weekes brought Owen Sound within one again 0:19 seconds later.
The teams continued to trade goals with Nate Woods scoring his second of the game in transition off a Justin Lee pass at 3:22, but Jake McNabb fired a low to low laser off a Jackson Webster feed at 5:57 to again pull within one.
Brooklin kept working with Chris Boushy adding his second of the game on a quick stick off a Tanner Cook pass at 6:42, but Josh Sanchez answered with an in close finish off a Tanner Buck pass at 8:44.
Brady Kearnan added an outside blast off a Will MacLeod pass at 13:53, but Jackson Webster continued the back and forth scoring shorthanded off a Mitch Wilde pass at 18:38.
After two periods, Brooklin 8 Owen Sound 7.

Third Period:
A defensive struggle throughout the period yielded only one goal. Mitch Wilde tied the game for the North Stars with a great individual effort unassisted at 10:43.
After regulation, Owen Sound 8 Brooklin 8.
Overtime:
Taggert Clark ended the game with an in close shot off a Will MacLeod pass at 2:44 to give Brooklin the win.
Final score, Brooklin 9 Owen Sound 8.
Shots on goal favored Brooklin 54-40.
