The Las Vegas Desert Dogs and Oshawa FireWolves traded blow for blow for three and half quarters of lacrosse. Both teams were being very aggressive down low, finding small widows of scoring chances. This was must watch tv! Dawson Theede, the new acquisition for Oshawa, made an impact yet again, having himself a night with 7 points on 3 goals and 4 assists. Dyson Williams also put up a hat trick, Alex Simmons had a 7 point night with 2 goals and 5 assists, and Tye Kurtz had 2 goals and 4 assists.

The FireWolves gave Las Vegas everything that they could handle, but came up short in a 16-13 loss. Oshawa is now 2-7, but has a somewhat favorable schedule the rest of the way. If they can manage to come out on the winning side of the close games they are playing, they may be able to sneak into the playoffs with a .500 record.

Jones Is Money In The Second Half For Las Vegas

As good as Oshawa played Saturday night, the Desert Dogs were slightly better. Mitch Jones had arguably his best game of the season, tattooing the FireWolves defense with back-to-back power play goals to kick off the 4th quarter as Las Vegas pulled away late. Jones had 9 points in this game, with 4 goals and 5 assists. The play of Jonathan Donville was the icing on the cake, scoring two of his three goals in the fourth quarter, including the game winner. He also saved a possession with a no-look pass to Kyle Killen for a goal that changed the momentum of the game late in the fourth quarter.

Chris Cloutier also had a big night with 7 points on 3 goals and 4 assists. The Desert Dogs are back over .500 and will be looking for their third straight win in Week 11. In order to do that they’ll need to carry this momentum on the road down in Georgia against the Swarm. The FireWolves will see if they can bounce back in the win column as they face the Toronto Rock for the second time this season.
