The Owen Sound North Stars (5-8) traveled east to face the Cobourg Kodiaks (6-7) in Major Series Lacrosse action Sunday evening at the Cobourg Community Centre in Cobourg, Ontario.
The goaltending match-up had Andrew Kidd in net for the North Stars facing Jackson Brown in net for the Kodiaks.
Although the Kodiaks scored first, the North Srars put a ten goal run together that spanned 40:05 of the game. Led by Jackson Webster (4g,2a), and Isiah Moran-Weekes (4g,1a), Owen Sound took control of the game early, and rode it to a 12-5 victory. Aaron Woods (2g, 1a), and Brock Haley (1g,2a) led the way for Cobourg.
To The Game:
Curtis Romancych opened the scoring quickly for Cobourg converting an Aaron Woods pass in transition shorthanded at 2:58, but Xander Derkatz evened the game with an in close twister off a Josh Rosa pass at 4:19.
Isiah Moran-Weekes gave Owen Sound their first lead with a blast off a Josh Sanchez pass at 9:34, followed by Sanchez himself scoring off a Xander Derkatz feed at 11:39.
Jackson Webster got on the scoresheet with an outside blast off a Derkatz pass at 12:50, followed by Isiah Moran-Weekes with his second of the period off a Josh Rosa pass at 9:55.
After one period, Owen Sound 5 Cobourg 1.
Second Period:
Jackson Webster got things rolling early for the North Stars with a low to low blast off a Connor Nock pass at 0:14 seconds, followed by Curtis Arnold with a howitzer from the outside off a Josh Rosa feed at 5:53.
The Kodiaks replaced Jackson Brown with Laine Hruska in net.
Jackson Webster welcomed Hruska to the game with a low to low shot off a Xander Derkatz pass at 9:49, followed by Cooper Jackson unassisted in transition at 16:27.
After two periods, Owen Sound 9 Cobourg 1.

Third Period:
Isiah Moran-Weekes increased the lead to 10-1 with a high to low bounced shot off a Carter Moran pass at 1:19.
The Kodiaks finally got rolling with Alex Marinier scoring of a Brock Haley pass at 4:24, followed by Haley himself scoring off a Dante Kulas pass at 4:35.
Jackson Webster continued the barrage with his fourth of the evening off a Xander Derkatz pass at 7:27 which broke the Kodiaks momentum.
Aaron Woods scored back to back goals for the Kodiaks, but that would be it for Cobourg on this night. His first was off a sweet feed from a Brock Haley pass at 7:57, followed by a sidearm snipe off a Briley Maxwell feed at 9:42.
Isiah Moran-Weekes continued his big night for Owen Sound with a nice inside move to score off a Jeremy Searle pass at 12:55.
Final score, Owen Sound 12 Cobourg 5.
Shots on net favored the North Stars 59-54.
