McArdle becomes 7th player to join 500-point club
Kieran McArdle was the difference maker in the second half of this game for the Philadelphia Waterdogs. With a pair of goals and an assist, McArdle became just the seventh player in PLL/MLL history to reach 500 career points. I’ve got to give this Waterdogs team a lot of credit for doing so well scoring in transition, off the pick and rolls, and (finally) getting a couple of 2-pointers with Connor Kelly and Ben Wayer shooting from the outside. Philly went up 11-2 early in this game. The Waterdogs had 10 players record a point, whether it was scoring goals or contributing assists, led by a hat-trick from Michael Sowers in this game. McArdle and Philly walk out with the win, 16-11 over the Utah Archers, moving to 4-2 on the year. That’s how you start the second half of the season! In Week 8 the Waterdogs play the Maryland Whipsnakes in a rematch from Week 2. Philly won the first matchup by a score of 16-12; they’ll try to make it a sweep on Saturday.

500 career points for one of the greatest players to ever pick up a stick 🥍👏 @kieranmcardle6 pic.twitter.com/jnC6eaASbK
Archers look to rebound after falling to last place
Even though the Utah Archers were in an 11-2 hole, they nearly came back, with Sam King putting up four goals and Tre Leclaire scoring two. Grant Ament and Tom Schreiber did a great job of facilitating the ball, both finishing with three assists each. However, it just wasn’t enough for the Archers to win this game. This is now Utah’s third straight loss, and they sit in last place in the Western Conference at 2-4. Ironically enough, the last time the Archers picked up a win was in Philly against the California Redwoods. Utah will be looking to rebound into the win column Week 8 in Fairfield against the Carolina Chaos.
