The Peterborough Lakers (13-5) visited the Cobourg Kodiaks (6-12) in Major Series Lacrosse action at the Jack Berger Arena in Port Hope, Ontario.
The goaltending match-up had Drew Hutchison in net for the Lakers facing Laine Hruska in net for Cobourg.
The Lakers scored early and often, setting a tone that Cobourg wasn’t able to match. Brad McCulley led the way with four goals, but Joe Resetarits was just as zoned in with a goal and seven helpers.
Up 6-0 after one period, Peterborough never let the Kodiaks in the game. Whenever Cobourg did score, the Lakers had an answer. Cobourg wasn’t able to string two consecutive goals together in this game.
Drew Hutchison was superb in net for Peterborough, making 37 saves on 41 shots for the victory. Peterborough wins easily 15-4.
To The Game:
Brad McCulley wasted no time getting Peterborough rolling scoring off a Mike Robinson pass at 0:56 seconds, followed by Dylan Hutchison blasting a Joe Resetarits pass at 6:56. Ben Trumble and Carter Page then scored just 0:34 seconds apart to give the Lakers a 4-0 lead at 12:00, followed by Josh Gilray in transition unassisted at 15:03. Taite Cattoni added another tally from the outside off a Mike Robinson pass at 17:28.
After one period, Peterborough 6 Cobourg 0.
Second Period:
Kieran McKay finally got the Kodiaks on the board with a low to low laser off a Jeremi Phoenix pass at 0:15 seconds, but Brad McCulley replied just 0:45 seconds later with his second of the game off a Mike Robinson pass.
Ty Thompson scored on the power-play for Cobourg at 11:55, but again McCulley answered back for the Lakers with a sidearm snipe off a Matt Gilray feed in transition at 12:31. Carter Page then continued the barrage with a goal 0:29 seconds later off a Joe Resetarits pass.
Briley Maxwell found the back of the net for the Kodiaks off a Ty Thompson pass at 14:55, but a buzzer beater from Carter Page had the Lakers heading to the dressing room up by seven.
After two periods, Peterborough 10 Cobourg 3.

Third Period:
Just like the first period, the Lakers dominated the third period as well. Frank Coyle got things rolling for Peterborough with a low to low shot off a Justin Sykes pass at 3:40, followed by Sykes himself converting a Mike Robinson pass at 6:58.
Kaleb Bingley scored on the power-play for Cobourg with a low shot to the corner off a Zach Thompson pass at 9:11, but Joe Resetarits replied with a howitzer from the side of the net off a Mike Robinson pass on the power-play at 12:44.
Justin Sykes added an unassisted tally at 16:54, followed by Brad McCulley with his fourth of the game off a Carter Page feed at 18:02.
Final score, Peterborough 15 Cobourg 4.
