The Oakville Rock (3-7) faced the Owen Sound North Stars (4-6) Saturday night in Major Series Lacrosse action at the Meaford-St. Vincent Community Centre in Meaford, Ontario.
The goaltending match-up had Landon Kells in net for Oakville, facing Kaleb Martin in net for the North Stars.
In a game that looked like Owen Sound was going to take to the finish line, the Rock showed how explosive they could be. Down 7-4 with six minutes remaining, Oakville put together a four goal run, including the game winner with just 0:03 seconds left for the 8-7 victory.
Carson Moyer (3g,0a) has emerged as a bonafide stud for Oakville, while Jackson Webster (2g,1a) and Jeremy Searle (3g,1a) were the bright spots for the North Stars.
To The Game:
After the majority of the first period being scoreless, Josh Sanchez opened the scoring with a blast off a Xander Derkatz pass at 13:32, but a transition goal from Lucas Hucal on a broken play evened the game at 17:56.
Oakville grabbed their first lead of the night when Chris Weier was sent down the floor by Tyler Hendryks in transition to score shorthanded with just 0:03 seconds left in the period.
After one period, Oakville 2 Owen Sound 1.
Second Period:
Jeremy Searle tied the game unassisted to start the second period at 1:24, but Carson Moyer answered with a great individual effort unassisted at 5:38 to regain the lead for Oakville.
Jackson Webster tied the game just 0:20 seconds later off a Searle feed, followed by an outside howitzer off a Cole Teeple pass at 11:55.
Ty English tied the game once again with an outside bounced shot off a Jack McAlpine pass at 18:25.
After two periods, Oakville 4 Owen Sound 4.

Third Period:
Jeremy Searle opened the third period scoring with a blast to the corner off a Josh Sanchez pass at 4:02, followed by Josh Rosa in transition finishing a lead pass from Noah Lebar at 7:17. Searle then added another goal in the period to take a commanding three goal lead at 10:21.
Oakville kept working and soon we’re rewarded. Josh Dawick found the back of the net off a Ty English feed at 14:02, followed by Carson Moyer with his second of the game off a Dawick pass at 15:39 to make it a one goal game. Brian Jackman then tied the game for the Rock 0:20 seconds later grabbing a loose ball, scoring unassisted.
The game looked like it was heading to overtime. In the waning moments Brain Jackman was able to find an open Carson Moyer who buried the perfect feed with just 0:03 seconds left on the clock for a dramatic Oakville victory.
Final score, Oakville 8 Owen Sound 7.
