NYCFC Looks To End 3 Game Winless Streak Against a Gazdag-less Union. Preview and Stats

The New York City Football Club will be looking to end its 3 game windless streak as it has it’s first home game this year at Citi Field against and also struggling Philadelphia Union squad. NYCFC, who has only one point in the last 3 games fell behind inside of a minute last week against the Minnesota United and never was able to fully recover.  With the team currently sitting in 11th place in the East they will be facing off against the Philadelphia Union squad that is now without veteran midfielder Daniel Gazdag,  Who was recently traded to Columbus for allocation money.

NYCFC will be playing its first home match of the year at Citi Field, as they work towards their third win of the year.  As usual, stats and figures to share with the game or via reddit:

1) Alonso Martinez still leads the team with 4 goals on the 4. Hannes Wolf is second with 3.

2) NYCFC has gone with a 4-2-3-1 formation in every match this year with the exception of the 4-3 loss to Atlanta, where they went with a 4-3-3.

3)  The Philadelphia Union are on a little bit of an offensive slide of late. After scoring 10 goals in their first 3 matches they have scored only 3 goals in their last 4.

4)  The 2 teams have only faced off once at Citi Field, back in 2023 when the Union won 3-1 with 2 goals being scored by Julian Carranza just 2 minutes apart.
