The Owen Sound North Stars (0-3) traveled to face the Six Nations Chiefs (3-0) in game three of the Major Series Lacrosse semi-final series at the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena in Haggersville, Ontario.
The goaltending match-up had Andrew Kidd in net for the North Stars facing Warren Hill in net for the Chiefs.
Owen Sound started strong jumping out to a 3-0 lead. The Chiefs came back with a flurry, scoring four times in 3:37 to change the complexion of the game. Although the North Stars scored again, the dynamic in the game had changed. A buzzer beater by Shayne Jackson had the Chiefs up at the break.
The second period had the Chiefs start to pull away, and by the third period had complete control of the rhythm of the game. The Chiefs come away with a decisive 14-7 victory, to take a 3-0 stranglehold on the series.
Shane Jackson (3g,0a), Lyle Thompson (3g,3a) and Dhane Smith (2g,6a) led the way for the Chiefs.
For Owen Sound, Jackson Webster (3g,1a) continued his hot summer scoring three of the seven North Stars goals.
To The Game:
Jackson Webster opened the scoring with a blast off a Josh Sanchez pass at 1:38, followed by Mitch Gustavsen with a low to low shot off a Greg Elijah-Brown pass at 8:45. Jackson Webster then added his second of the evening off a Tanner Buck pass at 9:31 opening a 3-0 lead for the North Stars.
Ryan Smith got Six Nations on the board from in close off a Dhane Smith pass at 10:55, followed by Shayne Jackson on the power-play with a low to low laser also off a Dhane Smith feed at 13:06.
Steve Priolo scored in transition off a Latrell Harris pass 0:35 seconds later, followed by Dhane Smith firing a high to low shot off a Randy Staats pass at 14:32 to give the Chiefs their first lead of the game.
Jackson Webster tied the game with his third of period off a Braydon Mayea pass at 19:33, but a buzzer beater from Shayne Jackson off a Josh Byrne pass at 19:59 had Six Nations up by one at the intermission.
After one period, Six Nations 5 Owen Sound 4.
Second Period:
Shayne Jackson opened the second period with his second of the game off a Dhane Smith pass at 4:55, followed by Randy Staats with a sidearm snipe off a Smith feed as well at 6:28.
Xander Derkatz got Owen Sound rolling again with a blast off a Jackson Webster pass at 6:48, but a shorty from Cody Jamieson off a Randy Staats pass at 11:37 stopped the North Stars momentum.
Braydon Mayea scored on the power-play for Owen Sound at 12:31, but back to back goals from Lyle Thompson put the Chiefs firmly in the lead heading to the third period.
After two periods, Six Nations 10 Owen Sound 6.

Third Period:
Ryan Smith started the third period scoring with a beauty from in close off a Cody Jamieson pass at 5:35 on the power-play, followed by Steve Priolo in transition also off a Jamieson feed at 6:33.
Lyle Thompson continued the barrage with a low to high shot to the shortside off a Dhane Smith pass at 7:29, followed by Dhane Smith with a blast off a Lyle Thompson feed on the power-play at 12:02.
Greg Elijah-Brown added one for Owen Sound off a Xander Derkatz feed at 15:21, but it was too little, too late.
Final score, Six Nations 14 Owen Sound 7.
