The Riverhounds hosted Tulsa in a highly anticipated rematch of the 2025 Cup Final, though the opening stages unfolded cautiously as both sides struggled to establish meaningful possession. In the 10th minute, midfielder Sam Bassett earned a free kick in the attacking half, but Tulsa’s wall handled the ensuing effort with discipline.
Tulsa broke through three minutes later. F Logan Dorsey found space at the top of the box and drove a clean strike into the back of the net, giving the visitors a 1–0 advantage. The pressure continued in the 18th minute when Tulsa F Jamie Webber rattled the woodwork with a powerful right‑footed attempt from distance.

The remainder of the half produced only modest chances for both sides, and Tulsa carried its 1–0 advantage into the break.
The second half opened with Pittsburgh making a pair of attack‑minded substitutions, introducing F Albert Dikwa for F Trevor Amann and M Goldthorp for M Mertz in an effort to inject energy into the match. The adjustments paid early dividends, as the Hounds immediately played with greater tempo and began carving out higher‑quality chances.
Tulsa soon responded by increasing its own pressure, generating a series of threatening moments, but Pittsburgh’s back line held firm. Seeking to maintain momentum and push for an equalizer, The Hounds made two additional changes in the 65th minute to further strengthen their attacking posture.
The Hounds shifted to the front foot and increased their attacking opportunities sending multiple crosses into the box. The Tulsa defense managed to repel the chances and maintain their composure. Despite multiple chances down the stretch, the Hounds were unable to find the equalizer and drop their second in a row at home 1-0.
