The Brooklin Lacrosse Club (3-2) faced the Six Nations Chiefs (3-1) at the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena in Hagersville, Ontario in Major Series Lacrosse action Tuesday night.
The goaltending match-up had Steven Orleman in net for Brooklin facing Doug Jamieson in net for the Chiefs.
While the Brooklin Lacrosse Club put up an admiral fight, the Six Nations Chiefs were just too powerful to hold down for three periods.
Led by Davin Bomberry (3g,0a), Josh Byrne (2g,2a), Lyle Thompson (2g,1a), Ryan Smith (3g,0a), and Dhane Smith (0g,5a), the Chiefs led from wire to wire.
The first period saw Six Nations jump out to a 5-1 lead on the strength of three goals from Ryan Smith. The third period saw Davin Bomberry complete his hat-trick, as well as Lyle Thompson with a pair of goals for the 11-3 victory.
To The Game:
The Chiefs got on the board first when Davin Bomberry struck from in front off a Shayne Jackson pass at 2:42, followed by Ryan Smith with a blast also from in close at 3:08.
Josh Byrne added to the lead with an outside laser off a Justin Martin pass in transition at 10:24, but Will MacLeod answered for Brooklin with a low to low shot from the outside off a Taggart Clark pass at 14:50.
Ryan Smith ended the period with two quick goals. The first was off a Lyle Thompson feed at 18:46, followed by a quick stick off a Dhane Smith pass at 19:54.
After one period, Six Nations 5 Brooklin 1.
Second Period:
Davin Bomberry opened the second period scoring with his second of the game off a Dawson Theede pass at 1:43, but Will MacLeod’s second of the game on the power-play off a Luke Keenan pass kept the game within reach at 9:39.
After two periods, Six Nations 6 Brooklin 2.

Third Period:
Taggart Clark opened the third period scoring on the power-play off a Brady Kearnan pass at 4:17, but Shayne Jackson stopped the Brooklin momentum with a blast of a Josh Byrne pass at 7:58.
Lyle Thompson increased the lead with a sidearm snipe off a Dhane Smith pass at 8:45, followed by Josh Byrne with his second of the game also off a Smith pass at 10:39.
The Chiefs continued onslaught with Davin Bomberry’s third of the game off an Ian MacKay pass in transition at 12:48, followed by Lyle Thompson with his second of the game off a Dhane Smith pass at 17:13.
Final score, Six Nations 11 Brooklin 3.
