The Peterborough Lakers (3-3) visited the Brooklin Lacrosse Club (3-3) in game six of the Major Series Lacrosse semi-final at the Iroquois Park Sports Centre in Whitby, Ontario Wednesday night.
The goaltending match-up had Nick Rose in net for Peterborough facing Zach Higgins in net for Brooklin.
Tanner Cook came back in the Brooklin lineup and made an immediate impact, scoring just four minutes into the game. What Cook also brought wash his savvy playmaking keeping the Lakers off balance. Both Cook and Ryan Barnable had strong first periods being involved in two of the three Brooklin goals each, taking a 3-1 lead to the dressing room.
The second period got much rougher, but Brooklin built their lead to 5-1, before the Lakers got one late in the period. Brad McCulley tried to inspire the team getting into a tilt with Keenan Cook of Brooklin. Brooklin took a 5-2 lead to the third period.
This period saw the Lakers play much more desperate. Getting a pair of goals midway through the frame, Peterborough had life. Taite Cattoni, in true dramatic fashion scored with just 0:18 seconds left to send the game to OT.
In overtime Taite Cattoni completed his hat-trick with a high to low bounced shot off a Joe Resetarits pass at 4:13 to send the series to game seven. Peterborough wins 6-5.
To The Game:
Brooklin wasted no time to get rolling in the game with Tanner Cook scoring from the top of the crease off a Ryan Barnable pass at 3:19, followed by Taggert Clark on the power-play off a Cook feed at 9:44. Sean Westley made it 3-0 with a sidearm snipe from distance also off a Ryan Barnable pass at 11:55.
Peterborough finally got on the board with an outside blast from Holden Cattoni ofd a Thomas Hoggarth pass at 16:10.
After one period, Brooklin 3 Peterborough 1.
Second Period:
Ryan Barnable continued his hot night with a beautiful in-close goal off a Sean Westley pass at 3:02, followed by Westley himself adding his second of the night with another blast to the glove side of Nick Rose off a Zach Miller pass at 4:30.
Carter Page got the Lakers back on the board on a delayed penalty with a quick stick off a Thomas Hoggarth pass at 11:05.
After two periods, Brooklin 5 Peterborough 2.

Third Period:
Peterborough, with their backs to the wall, got rolling with Joe Resetarits firing a screen shot off a Braedon Saris pass at 9:35, followed by Taite Cattoni with a great individual effort coming out of the corner off a Holden Cattoni pass at 10:58.
In dramatic fashion, Taite Cattoni tied the game with a quick stick off a Joe Resetarits pass at 19:42 to send the game to overtime.
After regulation, Peterborough 5 Brooklin 5.
Overtime:
Taite Cattoni scored his third of the game with an outside bounced shot off a Joe Resetarits pass at 4:13.
Final score, Peterborough 6 Brooklin 5.
Shots on goal favored the Lakers 51-40.
