The Philadelphia Union With Some Home Cooking

The Philadelphia Union is hosting CF Montreal. This Montreal club has been playing better on the road, going back to early June with a 3-1 win over Houston and a 1-1 tie with Orlando. However, Philly is still looking for some home cooking, as they walked away with a 2-0 win over the New York Red Bulls. It’s a great defensive game between The Union and CF Montreal.

Tai Bad Boy Baribo

Philly would get on the Scoreboard first. Danley Jean Jacques, being aggressive and driving the ball downfield to Quinn Sullivan, gets the loose ball and makes a pass to Tai Baribo, who finds the back of the net, putting the Philadelphia Union up late in the first half. Getting his 14th goal of the year. The Philadelphia Union again gets things rocking and rolling, as Philly would open the floodgates with offensive pressure. Kai Wagner off the set pieces throws the ball into a crowd of Union and CF Montreal players, and Olwethu Makhanya answers the bell with a header goal. Olwethu Makanya is getting his first goal of the season.  The Union continues to make great strides with the ball, and Philly keeps knocking on Montreal’s doorstep. Andre Blake would deny Prince Owusu’s shot on net. Andre Blake has been stiller through the bulk of this game. The Union fans are chanting Andre Blake! The Philadelphia Union would hold off Montreal for the win. Philly moves to 14 wins, 5 losses, and 4 ties. The Union gets their 46th point of the season. The Philadelphia Union will now get ready, head down to Houston to face the Dynamo.

Fresh Prince Of Subaru Park

Just when the Philadelphia Union were looking to wrap up the first half with a 1-0 lead. However, Montreal says not so fast Joel Waterman would find Prince Owusu all alone, wide open. Prince Owusu would get Montreal on the scoreboard. Prince Owusu gets his 10th goal of the year.  It’s become a seesaw between Philly and Montreal. Montreal is looking to bring some pressure of their own with Prince Owusu looking to succeed again with back-door scoring, attempting to make a header goal that went off the post.
Off the rush, and again, Prince Owusu and his teammate Dante Sealy put the Union defense on their heels. Prince Owusu would get a pass that went a little bit behind him, Prince Owusu would slip, and still be able to make the shot on net. Montreal will go back home and regroup, and will look to dial a win against Chicago for this upcoming Saturday night.
