The Owen Sound North Stars (6-9) traveled east to face the Brooklin Lacrosse Club (10-6) in Major Series Lacrosse action at the Iroquois Park Sports Centre.
The goaltending match-up had Kaleb Martin in net for the North Stars facing Steve Orleman in net for Brooklin.
A rough start and rough finish took an otherwise close game, and made it a big deficit for the North Stars to overcome. While the North Stars showed a lot of fight, Brooklin seemingly had an answer every time Owen Sound found some momentum. Led by Sean Westley (3g,2a), and Ryan Barnable (2g,0a), Brooklin wins 10-5.
To The Game:
After half of a period of end to end action, Brooklin finally exploded for three goals. Taggart Clark converted a Will MacLeod pass at 8:47, followed by Ryan Barnable on a great individual effort in transition unassisted at 12:17. Sean Westley then added a low to low snipe off a Ben MacDonnell feed at 16:05.
Tanner Buck finally got Owen Sound on the board with a quick stick off an Isiah Moran-Weekes cross crease pass at 18:54.
After one period, Brooklin 3 Owen Sound 1.
Second Period:
Jackson Webster opened the second period scoring for the North Stars bringing this to a one goal game off a Xander Derkatz pass at 1:59, but Ryan Barnable replied with his second of the game off a Chris Boushy pass at 10:08.
Sean Westley increased the Brooklin lead with a blast off a Tanner Cook feed at 10:53, but Mitch Wilde brought the North Stars closer with a sidearm snipe off a Braydon Mayea feed at 16:23.
After two periods, Brooklin 5 Owen Sound 3.

Third Period:
Sean Westley increased the Brooklin lead with a low to low laser off a Nicholas Volkov pass at 3:30, but Braydon Mayea kept Owen Sound close with a sidearm snipe to the corner off a Jackson Webster pass at 5:45.
Tanner Cook scored next for Brooklin to keep breathing room at 7:45, but Mayea then brought the North Stars within two again with a low to low shot off a Xander Derkatz pass at 14:07.
Nate Woods, Jacob Hickey, & Brady Kearnan scored back to back to back in the span of 1:27 to seal the deal.
Final score, Brooklin 10 Owen Sound 5.
Shots on goal favored Brooklin 60-52.
