The Philadelphia Wings got their second home win of the season, and first home win of 2026, with a 12-9 win over the Toronto Rock on Sunday. It’s no secret that the season hasn’t gone the way that Philly had planned. However, in my opinion, today was the best all-around game played by the Wings this season. Brennan O’Neill racked up 7 points in this game with 5 assists and 2 goals, both coming from long distance. Kyle Jackson had 3 assists and Lukas Nielsen had a lights out performance in the second half with his first hat trick for Philly, including one off a hard fought loose ball pickup.
Phenomenal finish by Nielsen!

Wings plan a South Philly kind of day for the Rock
The Toronto Rock didn’t have losing in South Philly on their bingo card, or making 9 trips to the sin bin either for that matter. Every time that it looked like the Rock were building some kind of momentum, they would get themselves into penalty trouble, where that benefited the Wings pulling away with the win. While the loss will fuel this Rock team for their next game, there were some brigth spots. Owen Hiltz had a 4-point game, displaying his lethal shot. Hiltz got himself into open areas and unloaded on Wings goalie Nick Damude. Josh Dawick also had a 4-point game, putting in 3 goals and 1 assist. Mark Matthews did a great job of passing the ball around with 4 assists. The Wings will head into their Week 19 break happy after a big win over the Rock. They will also be waiting for the Las Vegas Desert Dogs in two weeks, when former Wings forward Mitch Jones returns to Philly after leaving in free agency last year. Toronto will head home next weekend to play the San Diego Seals, who are fighting to stay in the playoff race.
