Philadelphia, PA – A matinee at the Wells Fargo Center saw the Philadelphia Wings continue their winning ways, edging the Calgary Roughnecks 13-11. This end to end affair had the nearly 7,000 fans electric with excitement all afternoon, with a definitive victor not known until the dying moments of the game.
Jones/Resetarits combination was huge:
Mitch Jones did Mitch Jones things! On five separate occasions Jones hit net on the day. Taking advantage of Calgary penalties, Jones scored three power-play goals in the first half alone. The goals were all assisted by Joe Resetarits, helping grab the lead in the second quarter. The tandem of Jones and Resetarits has been deadly all season, and on this day accounted for seven goals and fourteen points.

Other Wings of note was the play of Holden Cattoni (1g,5a) as a playmaker, including an ESPN highlight behind the back pass to Mitch Jones on his fifth goal of the day giving the Wings a 12-10 lead in the dying minutes of the game. Scott Dominey had another strong game with one goal in transition and six loose balls. Phil Caputo, who has recently found his role with the team, scored a timely power-play goal in the third quarter as well.

Roughnecks Give All The Wings Could Handle:
Curtis Dickson showed why his nickname is “Superman” scoring four and assisting on another two. Tanner Cook (2g,1a) and Braeden Mayea (2g,1a) had a pair each as well. Both Jesse King (1g,4a) and Tyler Pace (1g,5a) continually kept the plays alive, finding Dickson and company all day long.
Down to the wire:
For the majority of the fourth quarter, the teams were tied. Both Nick Damude for the Wings, and Cam MacLeod for the Roughnecks were stellar in net making game saving stops all quarter.
With the Roughnecks up by one and just 6:00 left, the Wings finally were able to put together a four goal run to put the game away. Cattoni tied the game at 11:49, followed by Resetarits 0:59 seconds later. Mitch Jones converted the behind the back Cattoni feed at 13:46, followed by an empty netter from Scott Dominey with just 0:47 seconds left.
The Roughnecks got one back with 0:15 seconds left, but it was too little too late. The Wings come away with the 13-11 win.

Take aways from the game:
The Wings are gelling more and more with every outing this season. They have learned how to win, not just how to hold on. This will come in very handy next week with two huge games. Heading to Buffalo next Saturday, and facing Vancouver on Sunday at home will be huge games for this team.
If there is a spot to work on, it’s discipline! The Wings gave the Roughnecks six power-play opportunities in the game, and they were successful on four. If they do this with Buffalo or Vancouver, it could be long days at the office.
