The Philadelphia Wings snapped their 6 game losing streak in Buffalo versus the Bandits, winning 13-11. This is what Philadelphia Wings fans have been waiting to see, with big productive nights from Brennan O’Neill and Michael Sowers. Both O’Neill and Sowers finished with four goals and an assist. Unloading from distance and getting inside to the crease. Joe Resetarits had four assists on the night. Kyle Jackson, letting Buffalo know that he got his Wings back after departing the team in 2022, was the X-factor in the game. With two goals and five assists, Jackson led all Wings players with seven points. Things haven’t really gone well for Philadelphia up until this point, but adding Kyle Jackson back into the lineup can potentially put the Wings back on track after this big win.

Wings snap six-game skid, send Bandits to fourth straight loss

The Bandits started the game off strong, going up 3-0, then going back and forth with Philly. However, Buffalo allowed two separate runs of four goals from Philly – one in the first quarter to trail 4-3, and again in the fourth quarter to squander an 11-9 lead. Buffalo did plenty of facilitating, recording 18 assists for the game. Ian MacKay had a hat trick, and Dhane Smith and Kyle Buchanan each had a pair of goals. However, Josh Byrne was held to just four assists. Also of concern is that Smith took 22 shots in the game – no other Bandits player had more than seven.

Buffalo now sits at 3-5, having lost four straight games. They need to get back into the win column to stay in the hunt for a playoff spot. However, the road gets tougher for the Bandits as they head into Halifax next week for a rematch, followed by matches against league leaders Vancouver and Saskatchewan. As for Philadelphia, they complete their 3-game road trip next week in Calgary against the last place Roughnecks (1-7).
