It is the second game of the Homecoming Weekend for the Utah Archers, who lost the first game to Redwoods and have dropped to last place in the West Conference. Their opponent was the Denver Outlaws, who have clinched a playoff spot and came into the game having won five straight. Pat Kavanagh and Brennan O’Neill each had six points as the Outlaws won 15-10 to improve to 6-2. The Archers drop both games of their doubleheader and are now 3-6. They have a bye in Week 10 before finishing the season against the Carolina Chaos in a must-win game if they hope to make the playoffs.
Archers, Outlaws play to first half stalemate
Connor Fields opened the scoring for Archers with an unassisted goal at 1:46. Logan Wisnauskas replied for Outlaws at 3:25. Patrick Kavanaugh would score off a pass from Luke Wierman at 3:30, then score unassisted at 7:44 to give Outlaws a 3-1 lead. Archers scored back-to-back to back goals with Ryan Ambler at 10:11 and Sam King at 10:55 to tie the game at 3-3 after one quarter. King scored again with help from Conner Maher at 3:58 of the second quarter. Brennan O’Neill fired a 2-point goal at 6:44 and a second goal on a power play at 7:43 to make it 6-4 Outlaws. Archers tied the game at 6-6 thanks to a 2-point goal from Mason Woodward with help from Beau Pederson.

Outlaws’ big fourth quarter dooms Archers
Dyson Williams put Utah up one with help from Ryan Ambler at 1:09. Justin Anderson tied the game with help from Kavanagh at 3:47, then Jake Piseno scored a 2-point goal at 4:01 to give Outlaws a 9-7 lead. King would close the third quarter with a power play goal at 11:54 to pull the Archers within 9-8. Williams scored again to open the fourth quarter at 1:33, tying the game at 9-9.
The Outlaws then fired off six points on four goals, starting with a 2-point goal from Ryan Terefenko, assisted by Kavanagh at 1:53. O’Neill scored with help from Kavanagh at 2:49, then Dalton Young scored with help from Kavanagh at 3:35. Lastly, O’Neill scored a 2-point goal at 7:37 to make it 15-9 in favor of Denver. Mac O’Keefe broke the run for Archers at 8:22 with help from King, but the Outlaws would win 15-10.
