The Denver Outlaws passed the measuring stick by doing a number on the champs, the New York Atlas, winning 16-9. Both the Outlaws and Atlas were missing big X-factors from their lineup: Jeff Teat on the shelf for New York, while Denver was missing Pat Kavanagh. The Atlas seem to have everything going early in this game by going into a half field set and coming up with some creative shots. New York did a great job of spreading the ball around getting the offense involved early. Bryan Costabile coming up with a goal and a two point goal to set the tone of the game, along with an assist.

Outlaws change the pace
The Outlaws approached this game by going up tempo, with a whopping five goals scored in transition. The Outlaws also broke into the bank of the Atlas by robbing the ball out of their hands. Denver settled down and took what New York was throwing at them on defense while having a counterattack ready. Denver would go back to a fast-paced scheme and dominate the third quarter on their way to victory. Logan Wisnauskas put up 6 goals, and Jared Bernhardt had 4 goals in this game. Logan McNaney stopped 9 out of 11 shots on net.
After winning a tough battle, the Outlaws must now gear up for a conference rival as they head into the belly of the Carolina Chaos. For the Atlas, Liam Entenmann faced 36 shots, making 20 saves. Trevor Baptiste dominated the faceoff circle for the Atlas, winning 17 of 26 draws. New York will try to come back to the win column when they face the California Redwoods next week.

Their ability to go from defense to offense might be the biggest X-factor in the league. pic.twitter.com/HTFZQslrNQ
