
The Victoria Shamrocks put on a dominant performance in a 16-4 win over the Langley Thunder on Friday night in WLA action.
Chris Origlieri backstopped the Shamrocks, making 38 saves on 42 shots. Victoria’s offence was on fire, outshooting Langley 67-42.
Zach Manns had a massive night with seven goals and one assist. Marshal King and Patrick Dodds were both playmakers, with King recording six assists and Dodds adding four. The Shamrocks also got two goals each from Brodie Wade and Chris Wardle.
There wasn’t much offence to speak of for the Thunder. Connor Watson and Dante Kulas each had a goal and an assist. Ben Vanderkley and Callum LeChance also scored for Langley.
Keegan Okino got the start for the Thunder and faced a barrage of shots, making 51 saves.
First Period
A quick start by the Langley Thunder didn’t last long.
Kulas opened the scoring with an unassisted marker 1:38 into the game. Just under a minute later, Watson made it 2-0 for the Thunder.
Cole Pickup got the Shamrocks on the board at the 5:58 mark, sparking a run of 13 consecutive goals for Victoria.
Luke Pilcher scored 27 seconds later to tie the game before Koen Block scored unassisted at 8:53 to give Victoria the lead.
The Shamrocks kept coming as Manns scored, followed by a power-play goal from Wardle, giving Victoria a 5-2 lead after the first period.

Second Period
The second period belonged entirely to Victoria. Origlieri stopped all 13 shots he faced, while the Shamrocks outscored Langley 7-0 in the frame.
Manns opened the scoring with a pair of goals. Elijah Gash then found the back of the net at the 12:59 mark to give Victoria a six-goal lead.
Wardle scored at 15:31 before Manns added two more goals to cap the period as the Shamrocks took a commanding 12-2 lead into the third.
Third Period
Langley ended its scoring drought in the third period, but not before Victoria extended its lead.
Wade opened the scoring 1:34 into the period, followed by Manns less than a minute later to make it 14-2.
The Thunder snapped a 41:27 scoreless drought when Vanderkley scored off a feed from Devin Pipher.
However, Denton McDonald answered immediately off the ensuing faceoff to restore the Shamrocks’ 11-goal advantage.
Wade added another goal at the 6:02 mark before LeChance replied for Langley at 7:23.
Manns rounded out the scoring with his seventh goal of the night with 5:35 remaining, capping a dominant performance as Victoria cruised to a 16-4 victory.
