Bal Nets Sock Trick

Eduardo Curros – Western Correspondent, All Lacrosse All The Time

The Vancouver Warriors hosted the San Diego Seals Friday night. It was the first of two regular-season meetings between the teams. The Seals held a 6-3 lead after three quarters, but Keegan Bal scored six goals in the fourth quarter to lead the Warriors to an 11-9 comeback victory. Vancouver is now 3-1 on the year, while San Diego falls to 3-3 with the loss.

Another low-scoring affair for the Seals?

Kyle Jackson scored at 4:42, on passes from Trent DiCicco and Graydon Bradley to give the Seals a 1-0 lead. Adam Charalambides would tie the score on a power play goal with a pass from Keegan Bal at 11:05. Wesley Berg restored a one-goal lead for San Diego 40 seconds later on passes from Ben McIntosh and Rob Hellyer. Berg then extended the lead to 3-1 with his second goal at the 4:22 mark of the second quarter. Owen Grant replied with an unassisted goal at 9:22, but the Warriors trailed 3-2 at halftime.

Vancouver, and Bal in particular, finally woke up and unleashed a salvo in the fourth quarter, scoring six of the next seven goals.

Charalambides scored on a pass from Riley Loewen at 0:22. Bal then scored his first at 3:57. Benesch fired in a pass from Cam Holding at 4:11 to make it 7-5 Seals. Bal scored his second goal on a power play at 5:54, and his third to tie the game at 9:04, on passes from Reid Bowering and Grant.
