Toronto, Ontario – The San Diego Seals (4-5) visited the Toronto Rock (3-6) in NLL action Saturday night at the sold out Paramount Fine Foods Centre in Mississauga, Ontario.
These teams have been heading in different directions lately, with the Seals having trouble scoring, while the Rock have been on a three game winning streak. This Seals team is too talented to be down for long with Ryan Benesch, Wes Berg, Kyle Jackson, Ben McIntosh, and Rob Hellyer. The Rock are as healthy as they are going to get this year. With the return of Tom Schreiber, Challen Rogers, TD Ierlan, Brad Kri, Latrell Harris and Chris Corbeil. The Rock have again become one of the more difficult teams to play, making this a must see affair.
The goaltending match-up had Chris Origlieri in net for San Diego facing Nick Rose in net for the Rock.
San Diego played this game with purpose. Jumping out to a 2-0 lead, the Seals defense tightened, making it difficult for the Rock to find open shots. Dylan Watson and Wes Berg led the Seals with a pair of goals each leading 6-3 at the half.
The second half saw a lot of the same in the third quarter, with the Seals increasing their lead to four goals. However, in the fourth, the Rock offense woke up. Toronto took over the game stunning the Seals with a five goal run to take their first lead of the game. San Diego, to their credit, kept pressing. The Seals scored twice in the final two minutes to leave with a narrow 11-10 victory.
