Tonight, the Albany FireWolves welcome the Calgary Roughnecks to the Wolves’ Den for Week 3 action in the National Lacrosse League (NLL). After a dominant performance against the Toronto Rock last week, the FireWolves aim to ride the momentum and secure their second victory of the young season. The home crowd is expected to bring the energy as Albany builds on last week’s standout performances from Sam Firth and goaltender Doug Jamieson.

In their previous game against the Rock, Firth exploded for five second-half goals, while Jamieson’s heroic 42-save effort earned widespread praise and bolstered his early-season case for Goalie of the Year honors. Tonight, Jamieson will once again be a key player as Albany takes on Calgary’s high-octane offense.

For the Roughnecks, they enter this matchup following a thrilling comeback victory over the Halifax Thunderbirds. Veterans Curtis Dickson and Dane Dobbie were in peak form, each tallying five goals, while Jesse King delivered an exceptional 10-point performance. Calgary’s offensive firepower will be a
significant test for Albany’s defense and Jamieson’s netminding skills. FireWolves head coach Glenn Clark knows his team faces a tough challenge. “We’re up against one of the most polished offensive groups in the game,” he said. “They’re dangerous across the board, and the big challenge for us is handling how
complete their offense is.” Still, Clark is confident in his team’s resilience and Jamieson’s stellar form, calling his 42-save effort “one of the best games I’ve ever seen him play.”

With both teams riding waves of momentum, tonight’s contest will likely be decided by which squad starts strong and sustains their energy. Fans at the MVP Arena can expect a high-intensity, action-packed battle.
