The Six Nations Chiefs (7-1) traveled east to face the Peterborough Lakers (5-6) in game four of the Major Series Lacrosse finals at the Memorial Centre in Peterborough, Ontario.
Six Nations was looking to close out the series and head to their third straight Mann Cup, leading 3-0.
The goaltending match-up had Doug Jamieson in net for Six Nations facing Drew Hutchison in net for Peterborough.
Another back and forth affair between these two teams throughout the majority of the first period. The Chiefs got themselves in some penalty trouble layering the frame, and the Lakers made them pay. Joe Resetarits and Taite Cattoni scored 0:20 seconds apart, both on a two man advantage for a 5-3 Lakers lead after one.
The second period was a much more intense, much rougher period, that saw the teams split eight goals. Special teams played a big part in the period with both teams getting into penalty trouble. After two periods the Lakers held on to a two goal lead.
The third period was a defensive struggle with only one goal scored in the frame. However, throughout the period messages were sent between the two teams. Peterborough holds on for the 9-8 win to force a game five Monday night.
To The Game:
Josh Byrne got the Chiefs on the board quickly converting a Justin Martin pass in transition at 0:33 seconds, but Thomas Hoggarth evened the game with a goal from in front off a Mike Robinson pass at 3:43.
Joe Resetarits gave Peterborough the lead with a rip from the outside off a Mike Robinson pass at 7:29, but a sidearm snipe from Shayne Jackson found the far corner to tie the game again at 9:23.
Matt Gilray fired a low to low laser through a screen off a Braedon Saris pass at 11:21, but Dawson Theede scored a beauty from in close off a Brendan Bomberry feed at 12:50 tie again tie the game.
Joe Resetarits took advantage of a two man advantage burying a low to low shot at 17:24, followed by Taite Cattoni with another two man advantage goal off a Matt Gilray pass in transition at 17:44.
After one period, Peterborough 5 Six Nations 3.
Second Period:
Thomas Hoggarth increased the Lakers lead to open the second period with a goal from in close off a Joe Resetarits pass at 0:40 seconds, but Ryan Smith answered from the side of the net off a Dhane Smith pass at 5:00.
Braedon Saris increased the Lakers lead with a blast from the outside off a Joe Resetarits pass at 7:43, but again Ryan Smith answered from in close off a Cody Jamieson pass at 9:47.
Braedon Saris once again increased the Lakers lead from in close converting a Mike Robinson pass at 11:56, but Dawson Theede ripped a laser to the shortside off a Cody Jamieson pass at 13:56 to keep the Chiefs close.
Shayne Jackson brought Six Nations within one on the power-play with a blast from in close off a Cody Jamieson pass at 16:31, but a shorthanded goal in transition from Mitch Ogilvie 0:23 seconds later restored the two goal Lakers lead.
After two periods, Peterborough 9 Six Nations 7.

Third Period:
The Chiefs pulled within one goal with Ryan Smith converting a Dhane Smith pass at 10:34, but that would be all the scoring in the period.
Final score, Peterborough 9 Six Nations 8.
