The Maple Ridge Burrards hosted the Nanaimo Timbermen Tuesday night at Cam Neely Arena for their WLA regular season finale. Maple Ridge locked up the fourth and final playoff spot two nights before, while the Timbermen were completing a largely forgettable 2025 campaign. Dylan McIntosh followed up Sunday night’s sock trick performance with another four goals as the Burrards rolled over the Timbermen 11-5 to finish at 7-9-2 (16 points). Nanaimo ends their season at 2-16 (4 points; 7th place in standings), suffering their fifth straight loss. Maple Ridge will face the winner of Saturday night’s game between Coquitlam and Victoria in the first round of the playoffs.

Nanaimo starts off strong once again

The Timbermen got out to a 2-0 lead on goals from Josh Verhagen (2:40) and Lukas Olsson (3:01). Dagan Carlson (3:53) got the Burrards on the board, then McIntosh scored back-to-back (8:00; 9:23 power play) to give them a 3-2 lead. Verhagen scored again (14:06) to tie the game at 3-3, but a power play goal from Drew Andre at the 15:38 mark put the Burrards up 4-3 after the first period. Maple Ridge pushed the lead to 6-3 in the second period after Carlson’s second (5:37) and a goal from Jesse Gillespie (7:45). Olsson cut the lead to one with a pair of goals (10:23; 12:58 power play), but a late goal from Declan Fitzpatrick (17:26) put the Burrards up two, 7-5 going into the second intermission.

Maple Ridge rolls into playoffs as Timbermen run out of steam in third

The third period was all Maple Ridge, as they outscored Nanaimo 4-0. Jake Young (0:59), McIntosh (2:09), Andre (6:08), and McIntosh again (6:52) extended the lead to the final margin of 11-5. McIntosh (4g, 1a) was named 1st Star of the Game, while Burrards goaltender Brayden Wandler earned 3rd Star honors after stopping 47 of 52 Nanaimo shots, including all 14 in the third period. Olsson (3g, 1a) took home 2nd Star of the Game for the Timbermen, and goaltender Colby Bowman made 41 saves in net for Nanaimo.
