The Toronto Rock (3-2) visited the Rochester Knighthawks (4-2) Saturday night in NLL action at the Blue Cross Arena in Rochester, NY.
Both teams were coming off big wins last week. For the Rock, CJ Kirst led the way with 5 goals in the victory, while the Rock defense was stingy just allowing seven goals on the evening. Rochester won two games last week. They beat the Wings in Philadelphia, followed by beating the Buffalo Bandits at home the next night. Connor Fields, Zed Williams, Ryan Smith and Thomas McConvey have led this powerhouse so far this season.
The goaltending match-up had Nick Rose in net for the Rock facing Rylan Hartley in net for the Knighthawks.

The first quarter was an exciting back and forth event yielding only one goal. While both teams had chances, only Thomas McConvey found twine as the quarter ended 1-0 Knighthawks.
Although the Rock tied the game on a CJ Kirst blast, the Knighthawks kept the pressure on, eventually getting on a four goal run. Connor Fields led Rochester with a hat-trick in the frame to send the Knighthawks to the half up 6-2.
The second half saw the Rock chip away at the Knighthawks lead, led by Owen Hiltz with a second half hat-trick, and Mark Matthews with a pair of second half goals.
In the third quarter Toronto goalie Nick Rose went down with an injury which put Troy Holowchuk in goal. Holowchuk was nothing less than exceptional only getting beat a few times in aost a full half of play, allowing his team to work their way back in the game.
In the final minute, with the game tied 10-10, Mark Matthews found an empty lane to the net, making no mistake. This turned out to be the game winner, as the Rock come from behind for an 11-10 victory.

The Knighthawks got on the board first when Thomas McConvey blasted a shot from the outside off a Ryan Lanchbury pass at 2:27.
