Minnesota United Transfer Out Former Leading Goal Scorer Teemu Pukki

The Minnesota United have sent 34 year forward Teemu Pukki to HJK Helsinki in Finland for an undisclosed fee after spending 2 years with the northern MLS club. Pukki, who put himself on the MLS map in 2023 with 10 goals in just 14 regular season matches only picked up 4 last season despite added playing time and 21 matches.

Pukki, who turns 35 in late March will likely most be remembered by the Loons for putting up a 4 spot against the LA Galaxy in just 30 minutes, as you can see in this video masterfully created by myself and shamelessly plugged:

As for the club, Chief Soccer Officer Khaled El-Ahmad thanked Pukki for his time: “I’d like to thank Teemu for his work ethic and goal contributions with Minnesota United across these past few seasons. Since joining our club, he has been a top professional in every way. We had positive conversations where he expressed his desire to play in front of his family in Finland, alongside his pursuit of history with the Finland National Team, and this transfer to HJK will continue his footballing legacy in Finland. We wish him the best of luck in his future.”

Here’s hoping he can finish his career strong back on his home turf in Finland.
