
Patrick Dodds found the back of the net five times as the Victoria Shamrocks earned a 13–10 win over the Langley Thunder on Wednesday night.
Dodds finished with five goals and two assists for seven points, while Zach Manns contributed two goals and an assist.
Tyler Burton made his debut for the Shamrocks, winning 12 of 21 faceoffs.
Andrew Kew also had a standout night with one goal and five assists. Chris Origlieri and Cam Dunkerley split time in goal, combining for 35 saves on 45 shots.
With the win, the Shamrocks move into a tie for second place with the Coquitlam Adanacs at 15 points. Victoria holds a 7-1-1 record and has a game in hand over Coquitlam.
The loss drops Langley to 4-6, keeping them in fourth place and further behind third. It also marks their second straight defeat.
Chase Scanlan led the Thunder with two goals and four assists. Nathan Lam notched a hat trick and two assists, while Toru Morimatsu and Jon Phillips each scored twice. Caleb Khan started in goal for Langley and made 26 saves on 37 shots.
Dodds Makes His Presence Known
Victoria jumped out to a 2–0 lead, thanks to a fast start from Patrick Dodds. He opened the scoring just 32 seconds into the game and added another at 1:57.
Langley responded with a three-goal run to take the lead. Lam scored on the power play at 7:04 and added a shorthanded goal at 11:25. Phillips made it 3–2 Thunder with a goal at 14:33.
But the Shamrocks regained control before the end of the first. Kyle Pepper scored unassisted at 15:14, and Dodds completed his hat trick with 1:09 left to give Victoria a 4–3 lead after one.

Shamrocks Take Over in the Second
Langley opened the second period with a quick pair from Scanlan, who scored at 1:28 and again just 37 seconds later to give the Thunder a 5–4 lead.
That would be Langley’s final lead of the game, as Victoria surged ahead with four unanswered goals.
Marshal King began the run at 3:07, and Elijah Gash restored the Shamrocks’ lead just 20 seconds later with an unassisted goal.
Manns extended the lead, and Dodds capped off the run at 7:42 to make it 8–5.
Langley fought back. Lam scored on the power play at 8:15, and Phillips added another 18 seconds later to pull the Thunder within one.
Dodds responded with an unassisted goal at 10:15, but Robinson kept Langley in it with a goal at 12:42.
Manns added a late goal off a feed from Kew with 1:23 remaining, giving Victoria a 10–8 lead heading into the third period.
Victoria Holds On for the Win
Langley opened the third-period scoring with a goal from Morimatsu at 6:45, but Kew answered back at 13:07.
Morimatsu struck again at 15:12 to make it 11–10.
With time running out, Langley pulled Khan for the extra attacker, but the move backfired as Dallas Wade and Patrick Kaschalk both scored into the empty net to seal the Shamrocks’ 13–10 victory.
