The Pittsburgh Riverhounds returned to the familiar confines of Highmark Stadium for a clash against Louisville City FC, aiming to build on the momentum from their 2-0 victory over Oakland Roots the previous Sunday.

The opening half saw both sides locked in a tactical stalemate, with neither able to break through on the scoreboard. Pittsburgh controlled the tempo, winning the possession battle 62% to 38% and completing 254 passes to Louisville’s 167. Despite crisp ball movement and territorial dominance, the Riverhounds were unable to convert their advantage into goals. Louisville picked up two yellow cards in the first half—Aiden McFadden was cautioned for a foul in the 31st minute, followed by Taylor Davila in the 37th.

The visitors struck first in the 50th minute when Kevon Lambert capitalized on a rebound from the edge of the box, netting his second goal of the season. The deficit doubled in the 87th minute as Adrien Perez finished off a swift counterattack, sealing a 2-0 win for Louisville.

Pittsburgh will look to regroup on the road next Saturday, September 20, when they face Hartford Athletic at Trinity Health Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
