The Colorado Mammoth (12-6) faced the Calgary Roughnecks (6-12) in their last regular season games of the 2025-2026 season.

The year has been a “rebuild in progress” for Calgary who saw several of its veterans depart over the offseason. They’ve seen quality production from veterans Tyler Pace and Tanner Cook, and solid performances from Brayden Mayea, and Noah Manning.

Colorado has had a solid year.  With pickups like Andrew Kew and Jack Hannah, this team can rack up big offensive numbers.  Dillon Ward is back to his All-Star form in net as well.  With a guaranteed home playoff game, this game would be one to stay sharp, and stay healthy for the Mammoth.

The goaltending match-up had Dillon Ward in net for the Mammoth facing Aden Walsh in net for the Roughnecks.

The Colorado Mammoth stormed out of the gates with a dominant first quarter, jumping to a 3–0 lead behind early goals from Will Malcom, Jack Hannah, and Thomas Vela. Malcom and Hannah were especially dangerous early, each factoring into multiple goals as Colorado controlled the pace. The Calgary Roughnecks responded late in the opening frame, with Brayden Mayea and Tanner Cook narrowing the gap to 3–2, setting the tone for what would become a back-and-forth battle.

Calgary carried that momentum into the second and third quarters, tying the game and eventually taking their first lead early in the third. However, Colorado’s power play proved to be a difference maker, with Dylan McIntosh and Jalen Chaster capitalizing on Roughnecks penalties to restore a 6–5 Mammoth lead heading into the fourth. The final quarter swung heavily in Calgary’s favor, as Mayea and Tyler Pace led a decisive run, combining for multiple goals in a short span, to take control of the game. Despite a late push from Hannah, who completed a hat trick, the Roughnecks held on for a 9–8 victory, fueled by Mayea’s four-goal performance and a clutch offensive surge midway through the fourth.

The Mammoth started quickly, jumping out to a three goal lead.  Will Malcom scored just 0:26 seconds in off a Jalen Chaster pass, followed by Jack Hannah finishing a Malcom feed at 1:37.

Thomas Vela welcomed Bowman to the game with a blast off a Braedon Saris pass at 2:44.

Calgary finally got going with Brayden Mayea converting a Riley Loewan pass at 8:38, followed by Tanner Cook with a shot from in close at 11:58.

After one quarter, Colorado 3 Calgary 2.

Second Quarter:

In a quarter that highlighted solid defense and great goaltending, only Tanner Cook got on the board for the Roughnecks.  Cook was able to beat Colby Bowman from in close off a Tyler Pace feed at 7:44.

At the half, Calgary 3 Colorado 3.

Third Quarter:

Justin Inacio gave Calgary the lead off the opening faceoff at 0:14 seconds, but a power-play marker from Dylan McIntosh would tie the game off a Jack Hannah feed at 3:39.  Jalen Chaster then gave Colorado the lead once again on the man advantage with a blast off a Braedon Saris pass at 6:16.

Brayden Mayea scored his second of the night off a Tanner Cook pass at 9:55 to tie the game again, but another power-play goal from Dylan McIntosh gave the Mammoth the lead heading to the fourth.

After three quarters, Colorado 6 Calgary 5.

Fourth Quarter:

Calgary came out on a mission scoring twice early.  Brayden Mayea added his third off a Tanner Cook pass at 1:45, followed by Tyler Pace with a sidearm snipe to the corner off a Cook feed as well at 5:45.

Jack Hannah evened the game with a blast off a Will Malcom pass at 8:37, but another power-play goal from Brayden Mayea, followed by a transition goal from Tyler Pace had the Roughnecks up late in the game.

Jack Hannah brought the Mammoth within one converting a Will Malcom feed at 12:49, but Calgary was able to hold on for the narrow victory.
