On Friday, December 13, the San Diego Seals hosted the Colorado Mammoth in their first and only regular-season matchup. In a high-scoring affair, both teams showcased their offensive firepower, with each recording at least one hat trick—two for the Seals.
The first quarter set the tone with a flurry of action, as both teams combined for three goals apiece. The game seemed evenly matched until Danny Logan score for the Seals with just two seconds remaining, swinging the momentum firmly in San Diego’s favor.
Riding that wave, the Seals erupted in the second quarter, scoring four straight goals and seven overall in the period. Although the Mammoth made efforts to slow their opponents’ momentum, the Seals entered halftime with a commanding five-goal lead.
The third quarter mirrored much of the game’s first half, as the Mammoth tried to claw their way back only to have the Seals respond each time. Colorado’s strongest push came late in the third and into the fourth quarter, when they strung together four consecutive goals to cut San Diego’s lead to two. However, a strong defensive
stand and a late goal sealed the game for San Diego, who emerged victorious with a 14-11 win.
