Shamrock Put On Dominant Performance Over Thunder

The Victoria Shamrocks put on an absolutely dominant performance as they defeated the Langley Thunder 21–9 on Friday night at the Q Centre.

Langley trailed just 4–2 after the first period but gave up 12 goals in the second, including a nine-goal run that spanned the second and third periods.

Caleb Khan and Nate Faccin were bombarded with rubber in the Langley net, facing 62 shots and making 41 saves. Chris Origlieri got the start for Victoria and backstopped the Shamrocks to the win.

It was a massive night for Kyle Pepper, who scored seven goals and finished with 12 points. Zach Manns and Andrew Kew each recorded hat tricks.

Chase Scanlan led the way for Langley with a hat trick, while Evan Messenger added two goals and an assist.

Langley Stays Within Striking Distance

Victoria opened the scoring with Chris Wardle finding the back of the net 2:55 into the game.

Langley tied it up at the 5:31 mark, with Chase Scanlan putting one past Origlieri.

The Shamrocks then went on a three-goal run in a span of 4:02. Brodie Wade scored at 10:48, followed by Pepper at 13:57. Cole Pickup rounded out the run at 14:50 to give Victoria a 4–1 lead.

Ethan M’Lot rounded out the period with a shorthanded goal at 17:16 as Langley trailed 4–2 after one.

Shamrocks Put On Dominant Performance in the Second

Victoria pulled away from Langley right from the start of the second period.

The Shamrocks scored five goals in the first 4:29 of the frame. Will Johansen, Chris Wardle, Pepper, Jesse King and Patrick Dodds all found the back of the net.

Langley got a pair back. Jon Phillips scored on the power play off a feed from Jake Govett at 6:19. Alex Lemieux followed 30 seconds later, assisted by Aiden Baker, to make it 9–4.

Victoria then launched a nine-goal run stretching from the second into the third.

Pepper started the run at 7:25, followed by goals from Kew, Manns, and Pickup in a 38-second span.

Kew scored again on the power play with 3:57 left, and Pepper added two more goals within 53 seconds as the Shamrocks took a 16–4 lead into the third period.

Deficit Too Big for the Thunder

Victoria opened the third period with Kew scoring unassisted at 1:21. Pepper added another at 3:11 to make it 18–4.

Langley ended their scoring drought at 5:53, with Scanlan scoring unassisted.

Victoria answered with two shorthanded goals—Manns scored at 7:58, followed by Pepper at 8:49.

Scanlan made it a 20–6 game at 12:51, and off the ensuing faceoff, Hudson “Finn” Halladay set up Messenger to make it 20–7.

Manns scored Victoria’s 21st of the night at 15:09.

Langley rounded out the scoring with goals from Messenger and Govett, but it was all Victoria in a dominant performance, 21-9.
