
1st half:
Facing off in the rain. DC United is bringing a lot of ball possession early in the game, however, the Philadelphia Union’s defense is playing the same defensive lockdown game plan from last week. Francis Westfield finds Jakob Glensnes open, and Jakob Glensnes shoots a goal to put the Union up on the scoreboard. D.C. United is getting good quantity scoring opportunities on the but they’re taking shots, just missing the net. Credit this DC United for constantly putting pressure on the Union’s defense without one of their top playmakers, Christian Benteke.
2nd half:
Well, it didn’t take long for Philly to make adjustments and figure things out. Danley Jean Jacques, taking matters into his own hands, makes a nice goal from distance. This would be his second goal in back-to-back weeks. The Union goes up 2-0. Philadelphia is playing very well in its defensive zone. Andre Blake is putting on a clinic. Mikael Uhre makes a nice header pass to Bruno Damiani. Bruno Damiani is making a nice cut up the middle for a goal. Philadelphia Union goes up 3-0.



The Aftermath
The Philadelphia Union is making up for lost time. Now with the Union through 5 games. The first 3 games only had one goal to show for. However, Philly has turned things around at home in these back-to-back home games, putting up a total of 6 goals. Andre Blake picked up his 4th clean sheet of the year. Philadelphia picked up 6 points in their last two games, getting 19 points, moving to 6-2-1 on the season. DC United has now dropped to 2-5-3.
