Shawn……………..3-3 .500
Week 3 picks:
“Muffler” Mike:
Saskatchewan vs. Ottawa
Saskatchewan. The Rush looked sharp last week, at least in the first half. Meanwhile, the Black Bears continue to be hampered by slow starts to games, which is already concerning.
Colorado vs. Philadelphia
Colorado. I have to go with the Mammoth, behind a revamped offense and a recharged Dillon Ward. The Wings have enough new pieces that time will be needed to gel, although I still expect this game to remain close on the scoreboard.
Calgary vs. Toronto
Toronto. With both teams looking to bounce back from a season opening loss, I’m leaning toward the slightly more experienced Rock squad.
Halifax vs. Buffalo
Halifax. I don’t care that it’s in Banditland, and I don’t care if Buffalo is the three-time defending champs. I saw Warren Hill play a near-flawless game last week, while Matt Vinc appeared to struggle to adapt to an offseason rules change.
Oshawa vs. Georgia
Georgia. Taking the Swarm to regroup in their home opener, despite the growing pains they may have this season. Also, watch to see how Oshawa’s offense responds to last week’s power outage, particularly on the power play.
Las Vegas vs. Vancouver
Vancouver. The Warriors will be looking to bounce back after losing their home opener. Las Vegas made a splash in free agency, but questions remain about both goaltending and Jack Hannah holding out.
Rochester vs. San Diego
Rochester. It may be an away game on a Sunday afternoon, but the Knighthawks have too much talent to start off the season with a loss.
Shawn:
Saskatchewan vs Ottawa
Pick – Saskatchewan
The Rush looked really good in their opener. The only blemish was not playing a full 60 minutes. I can’t see them making the same mistake again. Meanwhile, everything goes through Teat in Ottawa but it is becoming a bit too one-dimensional.
Colorado vs Philadelphia
Pick – Colorado
I think I’ve gravely underestimated this Mammoth team. They looked to be firing in all cylinders to start the season. They are still too many question marks, especially on offence, for this Philly team.
Calgary vs Toronto
Pick – Toronto
This game could go either way. However, I like what I’m seeing out of CJ Kirst and Owen Hiltz. That said, it could come down to goaltending and I give the edge to the Rock.
Halifax vs Buffalo
Pick – Buffalo
I really want to pick Halifax but their discipline scares me. They got away with giving Oshawa seven power plays. If you do that against Buffalo, the Bandits will make you pay.
Oshawa vs Georgia
Pick – Georgia
I just don’t know which Oshawa team will show up. The group that beat a very good Rock team and the one that was embarrassed by Halifax. Even in a loss in Week 1 I like what I saw out of Georgia. They fought tooth and nail against the defending champs and were right in the game before they became undisciplined.
Las Vegas vs Vancouver
Pick – Vancouver
Both teams have obviously completely revamped this season to turn their fortunes around. The Desert Dogs will be vastly improved but there are still question marks in goal.
Rochester vs San Diego
Pick – Rochester
The Seals have gotten younger and they are looking good. However, this Rochester team that been put together is deep and they will be a force to be reckoned with.
Gary:
Saskatchewan vs. Ottawa
Saskatchewan wins.
I like the make-up of this Rush team! Although Ottawa is improved, they still have a ways to go. This will be a lower scoring game.
Colorado vs. Philadelphia
Philadelphia wins.
This is my upset of the week. When nothing is expected of you, you have no pressure. Look for Joe Resetarits and Brennan O’Neill to find their chemistry in this game.
Calgary vs. Toronto
Toronto wins.
The Rock should’ve won their first game, but for a hot Doug Jamieson in net. The addition of Hiltz, Kirst, and English will make them a very exciting team. Calgary looked good in their first game, but will be in tough in this one.
Halifax vs. Buffalo
Halifax wins.
I said it last week, I think Halifax is the most complete team in the league! As long as they don’t take penalties, they will be the victor in this game.
Oshawa vs. Georgia
Georgia wins.
While Oshawa is coming off a rough performance, I don’t think this will be much easier. Georgia has a lot of offense, and relying on Doug Jamieson every game to be spectacular could spell disaster if he’s not at his very best.
Las Vegas vs. Vancouver
Vancouver wins.
While both teams have offense, I think this comes down to goaltending. I give the edge to Del Bianco and the Warriors.
Rochester vs. San Diego
Rochester wins.
Although a Sunday evening, this is the game of the week. Two teams that match-up well! This could come down to last possession.

Pat:
Saskatchewan vs. Ottawa
Saskatchewan
Colorado vs. Philadelphia
Colorado
Calgary vs. Toronto
Toronto
Halifax vs. Buffalo
Buffalo
Oshawa vs. Georgia
Oshawa
Las Vegas vs. Vancouver
Las Vegas
Rochester vs. San Diego
Rochester
Caden:
Saskatchewan vs. Ottawa
Saskatchewan-
I’d hate to go against them, so I won’t. Plus the Black Bears need to find consistency on the offensive side of the ball before I start to side with them.
Colorado vs. Philadelphia
Colorado-
Philly still needs to figure out themselves, now how they do that? I don’t know, we should ask Pat. With that being said, give me the Mammoth
Calgary vs. Toronto
Calgary-
Both team lost their opening contest by very small margins. As mentioned CJ Kirst and Owen Hiltz look fantastic to start, however I want to give this to the Roughnecks, they were able to find the net more in their first game and i think they will be able to finish it this time around.
Halifax vs. Buffalo
Buffalo-
I said it in week 1, I will not vote against Buffalo unless they give me a reason. HOWEVER with that being said, this can surely be a Halifax win if they can stay out of the box.
Oshawa vs. Georgia
Georgia-
A one goal win in week one against Toronto and then they get blown out by Halifax. Oshawa is not showing me a lot anything right now, and Georgia just brought the Bandits to the end in week one. Give me the Swarm to bounce back.
Las Vegas vs. Vancouver
Las Vegas-
Vegas was so active in the offseason and I LOVED it, they are my dark horse…if they can establish a solid goaltender in the lineup. Despite no Jack Hannah, I still think that THE DAWGS WILL BE BARKING IN VANCOUVER!
Rochester vs. San Diego
Rochester-
I can’t see the Knighthawks starting their season out with a loss after all the big moves they made in the offseason. Knighthawks are my early favorites for the NLL finals and I will back them here.
